Good basic info. Top tip, never have music over someone talking. EVER! Specially when the voice is so low you can hardly hear it!

Ok these are obvious solutions for anyone with physics basics, but not everyone has. So thanks for the video. Another moisture mitigation is insulating the roof and exposed faces, from the outside.

Serious people don't want music interfering with information. Those are the people who actually buy and use containers so target them for best results. I use ordinary dehumidifiers in my container machine shop and ride-through (doors on both ends) 40' High Cube motorbike garage/shop in humid SC with no problems. I suggest anyone considering a container house or whatever build a workshop first. Containers are useful for specific use cases and don't be seduced by the shape and size which are also constraints. If you really want (any) structure study until you no longer require much advice and become your own SMW. The info is out there with many industrial and military examples. I've five 40' HCs so far as shop space with three on a steel beam (surplus steel can be reasonable and if you're going to play in this league you already have a truck or several and at least a dual axle car trailer to haul supplies) foundation. For construction use forget anything worse than a "one trip" grade container and run away from the "WWT" or storage grade condemned boxes which were withdrawn from maritime use unless you like sand blasting rust. Be warned proper roof coating and replacing damaged door gaskets easily pushes the price of a "cheap" box into "one trip" pricing and nothing you can do to the worn out boxes will make them match a fresh one. Noobs should build a workshop container before building a house as you not only get experience but the shop (which you can live in if needed, it takes minutes to hang hammocks from the roof tiedowns) will greatly aid your project and store tools and more valuable materials.

Lived in shipping containers in Iraq and Afghan. both places had air conditioning and heat from a "Chico" a split system. During the winter and summer, snow, rain, heat, never had condensation. They make specialized paint, and blow in foam that can handle the jungles of Africa. Our tents had the exterior roof and walls coated with about 8" of exterior foam and no condensation. There are plenty of ways to stop condensation. Our 40' footer housed 20 warriors with gear and bunk beds. Can be done....Was done. No problem.

I'm wanting to build my son a starter home out of a shipping container. The only hiccup in the plan is getting past condensation and/or mold & mildew. I told my husband that I feel like if the container house had an additional cover over the house (like the container is under a shed) and we choose a container in very good shape & weld up any bad spots very well & add good ventilation, then there shouldn't be a problem. He still doesn't believe me. 😕

Well if that’s the worse thing that happens to you, then you’re miles in front of me. I only merely have to speak at the incorrect time or ask a question and I get screamed at, abused, called names, threatened, stuff like that…..so I reakon your miles in front just not being believed 😂 I’m happy at the end of each day just knowing that there’s one less day to go and strangely enough, that keeps me going. I hope you have a wonderful week, wherever you are ☺️

We have horrible condensation in our container. We open the doors durinf the winter to help but its just the same the next day. We plan to put a roof on and get the moisture absorption strips

Get power bank with inverter and run dehumidifier inside from time to time to dry all the things. Get temperature and humidity monitor. Chemical absorbers should work as well, but I don't know what is their capacity or how often they have to be changed. I just started using container for storage and suspect problems with humidity in the near future.

Sorry but that is a total nonsense

Why is it nonsense? I have three containers. One has the dry sticks installed during the summer and is completely dry during the winter. The sticks have each collected about 300ml of water. The second contain I obtained in the winter. It was lined with thermal block on the ceiling and thermal bubble wrap on the sides. It appears to remain dry. The third contain I rented in December. The roof is covered in water droplets and puddles on the floor. I dried the floor and put six dry sticks in it and left it for a week. No moisture was collected. I have now dried the container and left the sticks but I’m not sure if they will collect water at very low temperature because the moisture has transferred from the air to the container walls. The sticks work by collecting the moisture in the warmer air that can hold more water. This is probably why the container that I installed the dry stick in during the summer dried out the moist warmer air, and when winter came and the temperature dropped the was little moisture in the air to transfer to the cold container walls. I may get the last container lined with thermal sheet after it is completely dry, and that may mean using a dehumidifier to achieve this.

@@grahambrown5874 How do you power dehumidifier? I used dehumidifier at home all the time, but in container on the remote site it is a problem. I have power bank and solar panels, but this is self-storage site. I can close power bank with dehumidifier inside from time to time and then recharge or purchase a small generator. How long the chemical absorbers last? It is funny the most valuable comment under the video is a response to the silliest one ;)
