Great job, might I add for future, extremely dangerous for your wife to be standing that close to the chains while under tension. Many lives have been taken by chains or ropes snapping and the kinetic energy literally decapitating people. For future stand back, or get one of those tension breaking blankets that go over the chain so incase they do snap, they go straight to the ground

Having been a union Ironworker for decades and having worked with millwrights numerous times, your several snafus getting this thing in position remind me of an old cruising sailor's adage: "If you're having an adventure, you didn't plan well enough." I had a 40' high-cube delivered to a remote off-grid site yesterday, and was able to slide it off onto four stacks of eight concrete RV jack stand pads by myself, leaving it elevated 2'-8" off the ground so I can insulate the floor and install plumbing from underneath before I lower it down to the ground bearing on one pad. Planning is the key to handling multi-ton objects.

That was really hard and difficult xpecially when managing the jack, and yes, in the end comes the satisfation of a job complete and knowing that no one got injured. Beautiful to see all family working together. Congrats

I set up and work in a 20ft container. I wrapped the outside and roof with freezer panel. Doing it internally in my opinion loses too much space.

When I use those types of jacks I slip a socket over the winder with a couple washers to pack it out and use a rattle gun. So much quicker and easier to wind them

Suggestion.....Put you some 6mil sheet plastic under your container to stop moisture from rising up into your container.

Other than the flatbed delivery that looked like it went incredibly smooth. Would’ve thought the Ram 1500 wouldn’t be able to overcome the friction with the container up a bit higher on apparently not too soft ground.

Wow! Looks great! That will make a great shaping bay! I was holding my breath for your neighbor's wall too! "Can't be moved"??? Where I worked we would say "we don't know the meaning of the word 'can't'". Great job! The old "Egyptian" method still works great too! Nice to see. I work in a 40 and a 20 foot container...really interested in seeing how you layout your shop. I put a large fan cutout at the back of my 40, very hot where I live...instant dust vac. Use the strap eyelets in ceiling corners! Paint with a DTM if you can.

If you ever need to move it again, you can rent a forklift. I move them on jobsites with a 6k rough terrain lift. Small adjustments can be made with a simple Burke Bar. Its incredible what one man can move with a proper lever.

Next time with those scissor jacks if you have to lift something, find a short impact socket and an electric impact to make life easier and quicker. Idk how good it is for the Scizor Jack. Duck it their cheap

Neat project. When you were hooking it up to your truck though, it looked like you put the tip of the hook into a link of chain. If you did, please don't do this. That can snap the link and it's very dangerous if you're working with anything heavy like this. You want to feed the whole link sideways into the slot of the hook rather than using just the tip. It's much more secure

Hey Tanner, that is a good size container, and they are great also due to working in them when I use to work at Toys'R'Us, but dude they got really hot in the summertime. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the inside of it. Good luck!

Looks super sketchy with this scissor jacks. Good work though. Any issues with permitting for it, or did you even need one? I know some neighborhoods in socal can be a crap shoot for these things.

I was nervous watching those, too. I thought placing a piece of 2x wood, or even some plywood, might disperse the weight more evenly so the jacks didn't sink down, but maybe there wasn't enough room for the extra thickness.

I towed for a number of years and here's how u could've gotten passed all that...1...the driver should've backed up at angle almost as if he was gonna parallel park.2 if that didn't work u use ur wood....create a form of steps gradually elevating the truck over the hump...

Video paused....in the future..place something in front of the wood closest to your truck...that way if u go to far and the shipping container decides it doesn't want to stop u have a safety net ...which bringd me to my other suggestion....measure out the length u plan on moving with a chain or rope anchord behind the box ...and play
