She was friendly, outgoing and well-spoken, but I noticed her twirling and fidgeting in her chair. I guess the interviewer made her uncomfortable. He would’ve with me too.
That's because Shirley would not reveal anything on television. She wants the audience to buy and read the book for the sordid details of her life. Book publishers will tell authors not to reveal too much when promoting a book but just enough to get people to go out and buy the book.
This was the worst interview! That man was rude and obnoxious and actually attempted to upstage Shirley Temple! Why did he even bother with this interview if it was so distasteful to him? His remark about sitting on Nixon's lap to get a job was uncalled for! He's lucky she didn't walk off the set --- she proved to be the professional with class and stayed to fulfill her obligation.... he was an ass....
It's not mentioned very often, in fact seldom, but one of Shirley's daughters, Lori Black, was in a relationship with one of the members of "The Melvins" and played bass on a couple of albums. She called herself "Lorax".
She was probably the only person that has worked and interact with the largest number of high society people, from celebrities to politicians. Usually, it is either one or the other. Yet, her children want no part of the lifestyle she lived.
That's because the guests only want a happy and boring interview... It is up to Wogan to put some spice into the interview or the audience will go to sleep.
And thank you to CHUNKY CANDY BAR FOR BEING THE SPONSOR FOR SHIRLEY TEMPLE MOVIES...ONLY THE REAL SHIRLEY TEMPLE WOULD KNOW.... AND I DONT RECALL HER THANKING YOU...THE REAL SHIRLEY TEMPLE
Yes, it was 58 or 56 curls. I'm confused about the number as I had 56 or 58 curlers on my head during perms. But it did look like she had curly hair naturally and the curlers controlled the hair.
Wogan misjudged this interview. Sir Terry was less well calibrated to his guests than his BBC predecessor, Sir Michael Parkinson, sometimes forgetting whom the audience wanted to hear from. But by 1988 Shirley had been a diplomat, and trainer of diplomats, far longer than she was a child star. She could handle a chippy Irish questioner without losing poise.
Fox sure was stereotypical made money , then goes downhill on budget , cheapskate artists , cake eaters , easy stréet riders Shirley was gold the whole way not like hollyweird studios com ...
Jennifer Myers, you are incorrect. You can get chickenpox at any age if you have never had it before. I had it at age 17. The virus in chickenpox stays in the body and if/when certain conditions are met (the medical society is still unsure exactly what) you get the shingles.
