The GURU GITA is a Hindu scripture and a part of Skanda Puran .It has been written by a great sage ,Vyasa . It describes the timeless dialogue between Lord SHIV and and his wife goddess PARVATI. She requests Lord SHIV to narrate the supreme glory of a Guru and describe the Guru-disciple relationship.Lord shiv replies her by describing the characteristics of an ideal Guru,his principles ,the right way of worshiping the Guru ,characteristics of an ideal disciple and the benefits of chanting Shri Guru Gita.
One must listen to these verses with faith and devotion.
