It is not lost. Just look at other side, how many classical music performances you attended. How many instrumental performances u had seen lively. So good things always happened around us, find and explore. Don't say lost. It exists just open eyes.

For those who don't know sid Sriram sir is an NRI born in Chennai but bought up in US. Her mother Shri Latha garu is also an exceptional classical singer she taught sid sir the mool Mantra of singing it's because of her that we got such an exceptional singer and as we all know being far from the home land but still connected to the culture and rituals is some way beyond but all the credit to her mother who made such a master piece You are true born legend sir. And as you say your mom is your first guru hats off to her. And your are actually a true inspiration for those who do not follow their religion and culture and their own.
If someone like Sid Sriram leads to teach stotram like this all the youngsters will catch up and start learning all the sanskrit slokas.My hearty congratulations to Sriram for this great initiative! God bless you.

This is the first chant i ever by-hearted from the age of 4 or 5. I am 40 now. Till today this continued in every single Shiva temple I went and in our pooja room; all by His grace. I can say this without any doubt; this is the most touching rendition I ever heard; pure vocals, pure bhava, pure devotion. The innocence is palpable in the voice of all the Devis sitting here; lead by dear Sid who is immensely blessed and talented. Thank you a million times for brining such a version which is so pure and deeply connecting. May Bhagvan Shiva bless you all. :)
I am seeing a special happiness in his face while singing with kids. Kids = god. Maybe dozens of gods energy is filling Sid's heart with fulfilling joy.
It's so satisfying to see Latha aunty doing the exact same thing she did with us 15 years ago @sid sriram. In a world where everything has changed, she's still teaching the same way with the same passion and commitment (and still making sure all the kids keep the taalam). Hope to visit again some day. :)
All legendary singers are pro at classical music... *Shreya ghoahal* and *Arijit sigh* has great knowledge in Hindustani And *Sidsriam* has great touch with carnatic..They say us indirectly how important learning and having the knowledge of *classical* *music*

@@athul7545 I know mate. I myself am Tamil. I feel Carnatic classical music has more variations and nuances in raagams than Hindustani classical music. I beleive in the orientation Carnatic classical music came first and then Hindustani classical music.

@@mudrarakshasa What is that source?? Carnatic music came first boss. Then Hindustani music. It is a fact that there are variations and nuances in Carnatic classical music which are not present in Hindustani classical. Obviously they might have improvised later I'm not sure.
