I agree with you totally. How will the doctors make money if they tell the truth to their patients😂😂😂95%ofthem keep prescribing unwanted drugs to their patients. None of the Big Pharma drugs has cured anyone from diabetes blood pressure etc. They keep taking the drugs lifelong. Very sad.😢. Thank you for this video to educate the masses out there.
Just discovered you Dr Suneel & I’m so happy that I have 😊 I’m on Statin (have T2 Diabetes) & have been for years & I’m going to come off them myself asi e not been feeling too good on them & at my age of tender soon to be 66 that my memory is 60% down & I’m forgetting the simplest things too. I’ll be improving on my health & just for now thank you so much please carry on your great work informing us all as we do need & yes it’s all about making lots of money but not at all in our interests. Why not then prescribe us something healthier like vitamins & minerals as that’s what we all need 🙏🏼❤
I refused to take statins, I refused bp meds, I refused all the other crap. I went to an optometrist today to get glasses and they were SHOCKED that I do not have a primary care doc OR a pharmacy. I was told by a doctor years ago to change my diet.... he said "I could give you pills, but changing your diet would be better in the long run"... I had no idea what a GEM he was and very rare!!
At least they were only shocked. I'd gotten looks of either pity (the assumption I couldn't afford medical care) or disdain when informing a medical professional that I had no primary care doctor.
@annies…. Best thing to do is fast (1) first week skip breakfast , have light lunch and healthy dinner . (2) second week skip breakfast and lunch have healthy dinner . (3) month 2 alternate day fasting. Record BP and glucose before you start and record again at the end of month 2 .😎
I wish my doc had educated my husband on diet. So easy to reach for the prescription pad, next patient please. I tried but husbands seldom listen to wives advice. He never missed a dose but carried on eating the kind of crap I wouldn’t entertain.
I went to get mum some pain killers at chemist and the first thing she said to me was ''is this ok to take with ALL your other medications!?" I was 50 at the time but looked 40. So at 40 she expected me on a heap of meds. I said I'm not on any meds but this is for mum anyway. She said ''well your very lucky!"
Just to add .... pushed on Drs by big pharma and doctor governing bodies, which is not giving reasons for dtrs, they too are complicit, though big pharma controls all of them, and by default our health. Thanks goes to the few brave doctors and their awakening patients....
Absolutely! Every year he FDA withdraws approval from drugs, medical products, and devices it had previously approved. And you can be certain that it is not until the evidence of harm is overwhelming and has gone on for years. So consider that with every drug you are prescribed. Just because it is deemed “safe & effective” this year, that may not always be the case.
I had blood work done. My Dr put me on statins. After three months I couldn’t walk. Pain everywhere. I had to use a cane to walk. Shoulder pain, back pain, foot pain. Then my hands started hurting. I got off statins on June 11 pain is gone. I can go for walks now. I felt I lost my quality of life. I haven’t told my Dr yet. I tried to tell her what was happening to me she said it was arthritis. But after watching hours of RU-vid about statins I knew it was statins, I was right. I got my life back.❤
I had the same reaction to Beta Blockers, I was nearly crippled by them, mobility kept getting worse and worse and arthritis type knee pain and pain through all my body joints went through the roof, my dr also tried to blame arthritis but i kep sayinv it started when meds started... eventually they conceded it was the meds, apparently it's a "rare" reaction/side effect that degenerates the muscles in the body, causing weakness and severe joint pain due to lack of muscle strength supporting the joints. It was horrible and has taken nearly 18months to start to regain muscle strength once beta blocker meds ceased. .... so be careful it's not just statins that cause this reaction, beta blockers can too, and if you look at most people on heart meds/beta blockers youll notice they all sort of shuffle along unsteady on their feet, now i know whats possible with the side effects i wonder if all those people are having same side effect.
I started them years ago, and after 3 months I couldn’t walk up stairs. My doctor immediately took me off of them, and I got my muscle tone back after 2 months. Long term statin use can cause permanent muscle damage. I’m SO glad your quality is better and I think you will keep getting better!!!
Yes, you should definitely question your GP / MD about them, but it’s a bit more complicated than that. Yes, I know about Cholesterol, all the potential side effects & “Big Pharma” etc…but Statins do have a beneficial place in some circumstances…like many medicines. And Dr Dhand is right to say they’ve been over-prescribed since they were initially welcomed as a “wonder drug”, which was a bit of an exaggeration, to say the least!
His doctor was constantly trying to push statins on my husband, even though he explicitly told her he did not want to be on them. His cholesterol was a bit high but that was it. He ended up having to go in at get a Cardiac catheterization for a separate issue, and they sent in a camera to check a small aortic aneurism's progress... His cardiologist said he had the CLEANEST arteries he had ever seen. So, no... he certainly didn't need STATINS. They are very much over prescribed.
The "absolute risk reduction" for statins is less than 1% with side effects -- that can take years to show up, but show up none the less, of cognitive decline leading to dementia, increasing blood sugars leading to pre-diabetes, diabetes, out-of-control diabetes, muscle aches and pains, tendon rupture.
Me at 76 or so:Real geographical cognitive decline (how do I get from here to there?, where did I put...?) on one month of a statin. A year plus off, and it's I think I know how to get there, and if I look long and hard enough, I will find what I lost. My doctor is not happy, and it's been a year plus since I saw her. Not sure I'm gong back.
I think the JUPITER study showed a 0.29% difference between the statin group and the control group. However a 200 billion dollar industry was born. Wonder what new industries are just on the horizon by these studies...
Drug companies say 1% advantage based on their funded studies. If there were independent studies that number would be 0.0% excluding dangerous side effects.
Just like ADHD and ADHD which are just individual personality traits and not a disorder . Just an excuse to sell drugs they couldn't find another use for .
My doctor's nurse was in shock when I told her that I wouldn't take statins and she treated me like a rebellious child. I wanted to tell her that she's a brainwashed 🐑, but I refrained. 😅
I remember in pharmacy school 30 years ago thinking statins were a scam. I don't remember the stats, but my professor talked about how many people had to be treated for a certain length of time to reduce the chance of one person having a heart attack. I felt like I was the only one who thought it was the punch line to a bad joke. The cherry on top, was no substantial decrease in mortality. I clearly remember thinking there was no point in taking these meds.
Ok…well that is just false! There are plenty of good medical providers! When you find a ‘good’ provider that you feel comfortable with then address your concerns over taking medications. A ‘good provider (physician, physician associate, NP) will work as a team with you and listen/hears what you are concerned about. If they don’t then they aren’t the right provider. There truly are many excellent providers. High lipids, high triglycerides, will make plaque in your vessels including the coronary arteries that lay on top of heart and if they get clogged…that is when heart attacks (Mi) happen. This is not something to play around with. Good luck
Dr Dhand, I tried sharing this video to my FB Health Group & FB blocked it. Just terrible, we live in a free speech country that won’t let you have free speech. 🤦♂️

Thank you Dr Dhand. I too was prescribed statins after I went on a Keto way of eating... I took the statins and felt worse than ever before and decided to stop taking them. A year later when I had bloodtests done my GP was horrified at my high cholestrol levels and sent me to a cardiologist who dealt with female heart problems... it was a Godsent as she looked at my tests results and asked me if I was on a ketogenic diet.. I said yes .. she did a number of tests and said to me: "Continue as you are as you are doing a great job"... With the "explosion" of Alzheimers and Dementia - I would urge people to take a look at the cause.
Many doctors are starting to stop statins because of the brain being over 70 percent fat. I talked to many people who are having memory issues since taking stains. They are using alternative medicine to fix there cholesterol . If you look at the raw data on cholesterol it only helps less then 1/3 of a percent of the people. Ask your doctor with any medication what are the numbers. One in 20 helps; one in 10; one in 50.... just ask. I did and was disappointed. New England Journal of Medicine tells all of us to be proactive with our doctor to improve our health. Life style chances with medicines when needed.
@@user-mu5ug2wt8tmy solution has been to stop taking every single medication I was prescribed and rather adapt my diet and lifestyle... and I've never felt better. Bid pharma medications have side-effects & if there were aby ever stated.. I got all of them.
Our Brains Needs Cholesterol! Case Closed. If you take a Drug, and You Feel WORSE, A LOT WORSE, LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU! IT IS SAYING "NO!" "STOP."
I’ve got sky high LDL too. I’m on a Ketovore diet/lifestyle with intermittent fasting. My Doctor tried to scare me with the fact that I would die of a stroke or heart attack. I’m not bothered at all. My HDL is high and my triglycerides are low. My blood sugar HBA1c is continuously 9:56 falling to healthy levels. I feel and look great. We need Cholesterol.
They are beyond reach- nothing can be done of these thugs! Cancer, heart disease, cancer, autism- neurological issues etc., on the increase and general public are helpless

My Dr tried to prescribe me statins, despite my cholesterol is great, all heart tests are excellent, and all extensive blood work is great. I'm 59 and my mother had health issues so he tried to convince me it is for preventative measures as I am getting up in age and take zero prescriptions. I asked why would I start as I eat healthy and in good health and would like to research it first. Kept trying to convince me otherwise and finally noted "patient refuses recommended advice" like I am a fool for not blindly taking it. He also lectured me several times for not taking the covid shots as well. Despite being my Dr for 30 yrs and only going for annual bloodwork and exams, I won't be going back.
Time to look for a new doctor. That is called gaslighting the patient. If a doctor is arrogant and condescending; it usually means they are incompetent and you need to move on.
I think what most ppl don't understand is, Drs are REQUIRED to offer & ask the patient if they want this or that vax or this or that therapy. The patient always has the option of saying NO... & the next time your Dr wants to put you on a statin or whatever, ask them.... are YOU taking it? 😂
@@catb4918Yes, this is true. If a doctor does not follow certain guidelines that are considered best practice, they could be sued if something happens that could be seen as due to not following these guidelines. That is why it has to be documented in your record. It’s really a CYA move but the doctor should have explained that to you. Unless of course they really believe in what they are saying. Many doctors do not think for themselves and would rather have information fed to them without questioning the validity of said information. If your gut instinct tells you this is not your person, walk away and find someone you can trust and relate to. This is what I have been telling my own patients for over 25 years.
Even if I knew I had "bad" cholesterol level, and allowed consultation, I would refuse any statin. They're a recipe for a quality of life worse than just being dead.
Was told that as well, cholesterol is normal & I also refused!! So called Doc, said it was precautionary and preventative 🤦that was the last time I stepped foot in that office
My doc prescribed a statin but I never took one dose. I ate oatmeal twice a day and cut out fried food and sugar to the best of my ability After 6 months went back to cholesterol dropped 52 points and dropped 40 pds. She was so proud of herself 😅😅😅😅😅. I told her I never took one pill…she said oh, guess you don’t need a refill then
@@sassyt1545not instant oats, but rolled oats eaten raw as a bedtime snack lowered my cholesterol much better than any statins had, although the statins WERE great at destroying my muscles. Chewing raw oats without adding anything actually has a sweet flavor but is an acquired taste. Rather than statins, I learned to love those oats lol :)
Was in the hospital 3 years ago for dehydration, which happened from a reaction to an antibiotic. They refused to give me fluids that I needed and looked for a different cause because I am “elderly”. I was prescribed Lipitor. I said I have never had high cholesterol. I have been mainly vegetarian since I was a teenager. They looked into my records and told me my last test was 3 years before. I said that I had a test 3 months ago and it was perfect. They ordered a test and of course, I didn’t need Lipitor. I am outraged that because I’m in my 80’s now, they routinely think I need all the stuff other old people take and without tests. I am not on any prescription medication at all. I plan to keep it that way. 😊
I just don't trust my doctor. I have never had high cholesterol, but he said I "might develop it". He prescribed it despite my attempts to talk to him, but I have not and will not take statins.
I have a friend that is 80 and just put on a Statin. I have told her before my feelings, but she is adamant that the 'doctors always right". We shall see.
Good for you. Stay drug free! My mom is 95 yrs old and on no medication/x eye drops for dry eyes. She’s sharp as a tack, has a few aches and pains from arthritis but really very good. I’ve been an RN for almost 40 yrs and the sickest people were the ones on pharmaceuticals. The more medication the sicker they were.
I am an 80 year old woman. I take my hypothyroid medication, and drops for dry eyes, and that is it! My cardiologist told me I have the heart of a 40 year old. I just returned from a 2600 mile solo road trip. I plan on traveling around my home state (Texas), as a solo tent camper. At one time I was prescribed a statin, and I took it 3 weeks, and got off it. Hated that I could bleed from a light bump on my body.

I've always had high blood pressure and "heart issues", throughout my whole career in the Army. When I retired, the doc tried putting me on a handful of meds to correct it, but I refused. I researched and ate lots of fresh garlic and started walking after every meal, and avoiding processed foods. I'm good to go now!
What a surprise! *Eye roll* My doctor wanted me on Statins. Many people would have taken the advice. I have high hereditary cholesterol. I’m a cholesterol factory. But I have no family history of heart disease, hypertension, or stroke. Exercise very regularly. Have a BMI of 20.5. 5’11” 146lbs. Less than 15% total body fat (Dexa). Resting pulse of 46. 115/75 BP. My triglycerides are great. So I told the doctor I wouldn’t be taking her advice and that I wanted a full lipid density check, and out of an abundance of caution, a CAC Scan. The Lipid Density Check showed that my LDL was not of the dense toxic variety and my CAC Scan Score was zero. No evidence of arterial plaque at all. Her argument was, oh but age is a risk factor and you are 65. The test scores were undeniable though and she backed down. But that was me. How many people would have simply taken the meds???
Very interested to read your comment. I just found out that I also have high hereditary cholesterol, Lipoprotein A. Blood pressure normal, LDL slightly elevated (so what), healthy, but, horror or horrors, I am 66YEARS OLD. So, in march “guidelines” and “protocol”, and advice to take statin. 2 aunts had heart attacks in their 70s, but were both long term smokers. My doctor also offered me 2 vaccines, purely because of my age. Really? No drugs for me, lifestyle changes, yes. Other than that, I’ll take my chances and trust in Almighty God.
I hate statins. I tried 3, as doctors forced them down my throat. I was not on them very long. Huge side effects, from hair loss, to chest pain, to muscle cramps. I finally discovered the cause of my high cholesterol was insulin resistence (and yet doctors rarely test insulin) and the cure for my high cholesterol and many other metabolic problems was intermittent fasting, along with a healthy diet that I made even healthier. Thank you doctor for getting out the truth that too often it is about the money.
@@Thecelestial1 A fasting insulin test. Along with glucose. Then the Homa IR formula. Insulin x Glucose divided by 405. If your result is above 1.5, you are insulin resistent.
In Tennessee, LDL normal is 99 or less...North Carolina LDL normal is 125 or less. Dr Dhand is spot on, change your diet, it's in the lousy foods that you eat.
And also all the bad things put in food incl the pesticides. Foods are sprayed with Roundup can you believe...how can the FDA approve that? And we are the only country who uses the poisonous GMOs.
@@rumproast5159 Well, after my quad bypass a year ago, I also managed to lose 60 pounds, brought my HDL up to 51, and my A1c from 8.1 to 5.3, mainly by diet and walking 2 miles a day. Still taking a statin but I don't think I still need it, but my doctor won't take me off until I have two more checkups like the last one two weeks ago.
I refused to take statins when my doctor prescribed them 6 months ago. I am 65 years old. I had: cholesterol 205mg/dl triglycerides 72mg/dl, HDL 50mg/dl, LDL 141 glucose 90 and blood pressure 6.5 diastolic 10.5 systolic. When I refused he bullied me telling me that I would have brain and cardiovascular problems. For several days I was very anxious. I relaxed somewhat when I started watching the videos uploaded by you and other doctors who serve people and not corporate interests. Thank you very much
Those are not blood pressure readings. A normal BP reading is 120 Systolic and 80 Diastolic. Of course, that varies, but your readings of 6.5 and 10.5 are readings for some blood test, I think.
When you reduce your LDL, you put yourself at a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other problems that end up putting you on more drugs. Statins are practice builders.
My Cholesterol was very low and my arteries were clean and I had a heart attack with AFIB. I was given so many medications in the hospital that I died and was on life support. My family was told it is only a matter of time before I would be dead. It was a long road back and with great doctors, nurses, rehab. I worked with great doctors and got off a lot of medications and survived. Look for private practice fundamental doctors to get you on track. I can not say enough for the wonderful people who are helped me to recover.
Years ago Dr John Young of Largo, FL, got in trouble with United "Healthcare" for not prescribing enough statins. Dr Young is a young relic of the past: a REAL physician!😊
I tried a statin once many years ago. It only lowered my cholesterol slightly, but, I had to postpone the follow up appointment twice until I was able to get out of bed, shower, dress, and drive to the doctor’s surgery on my own. I had such horrid body aches and fatigue, I had to be statin free for two weeks in order to function normally. Haven’t touched the things since.
My husband was prescribed statins. After awhile he was complaining about how much his back hurt. It started getting very painful. I told him about it can cause terrible muscle pain and it doesn't help that much. He stopped taking them and feels so much better.
When I wouldn’t take a statin because I knew I didn’t need it and at my age, my risk for a stroke was much higher and statins are implicated in strokes among other things . He fired me as his patient and his parting comment was why I prescribe statins five times a day. .
That would be a kickback and that's illegal . But what they do is get Country Club memberships free vacations leases on luxury vehicles that someone else pays for this goes on and on
Jeff, links usually get deleted when talking about this subject. You can find many by searching. Try looking at title. Dr Paul Mason - the truth about St…. At the very end of that video quotes a study it is 440 percent greater chance of memory loss
I get together with some other women who are all around my age (60's) and they all follow a different political view from me. Thankfully we don't talk politics and I really like them. However one of the women brought up the issue of statins. She was watching Good Morning America recently they they were saying on the show how statins were so good and beneficial for many people...even those who don't have high cholesterol! Sigh...they just mostly watch MSM and believe what they are being told!
Since I don't have high cholesterol and my dr is pushing stains on me, I've read many studies etc and I can't find out how they would benefit me physically so I won't take them. Took them for awhile, made me pre diabetic and severe itching. Would be diabetic if I had continued. I try instead to eat healthy.
Thank you Dr Dhand for another honest and informative video. About 5 years ago my doctor prescribed Lipitor 20mg for me as my cholesterol was mildly elevated. Within a few months I was having trouble walking as my legs felt very weak. A blood test was done, at my insistence, as my then doctor was a great statin believer, and my CK levels were found to be elevated, and my muscles were being damaged. Stopped Lipitor immediately and gradually I returned to normal. I continued with my healthy diet and haven't had any regrets about getting off Lipitor. That was a scarry experience. By the way changed doctors too.
Thank you for caring. I am 71 and on mo meds. So many friends' who are my age are already on statins. It's no different here in the 🇬🇧 UK. Take charge of your own health.
I’m truly glad to see that I’m not the only one who refused to load up on all these medications 💊 my doc recommended. I lift weights three times a week and watch what I eat.
@@tdgdbs1 this is exactly how they work. What the poster IS wrong about, however, is that diet can always affect cholesterol numbers. The cholesterol content of food does not necessarily correlate to cholesterol numbers in the blood.

I'm a 72 year old female. My cholesterol is high but not terrible. My Dr wanted me to go on statins, and I said no. I had looked up what the adverse effects were, and also, my friend is a retired Nephrologist. She said no, don't do it. All 3 of my siblings are on statins and 2 of them now are diabetic. I read that that's one of the adverse effects that can happen. Is that true, Dr. Dhand? I am so glad you are back on youtube, I appreciate your honesty.❤
Look at infant formula ingredients!!! Non-fat milk & seed oils are just some😢 Developing babies/ children need cholesterol, animal fats, raw milk, cheese, kefi, fermented foods extremely important for brain & gut health etc.
Yeah the ingredients in the dry babyfood is stagering I couldn't believe the ingredients put in this stuff, its sickening to give growing babies this crap.
I have been off statins now for around 6 months. Getting my mojo back , sleeping much better and feeling better because i feel normal. Just had all my bloods done a 2 weeks ago and I have " Bloods of a thirty year old, cholesterol is a little high (6.8) " quote. Time to start enjoying life.
The brother of a friend of mine took statins for years, he was healthy, active, a golfer. One day on the golf course, just while walking, the tendon in his left leg snapped in two. Needless to say, he is off the statins.
I had a blood test and my cholesterol was found to be 5.3. My Dr. sent a prescription to the pharmacy without discussing any options, over a telephone consultation. I collected the statin tablets, but after speaking to a nutritionist, I decided not to take them. I changed my diet, I very rarely had junk food, but cut out all fried foods, chips etc. only fresh vegetables and grilled fish and oven cooked meats. I started walking everyday and exercising. I take milk based plant sterol drink daily. My cholesterol came down to 5 , and tri-glycerides came down from 2.9 to 1.07 within 3 months. I’m aged 67.
There are studies saying that statins lower cholesterol, but many doctors at national health care facilities want patients who don't have high cholesterol to take them. Why???
@sherylkeib4993 - cholesterol is made by and needed by your body. The problem is that there is no good science that actually correlates higher cholesterol levels alone with cardiovascular risk. They fabricated a BS study long ago to claim it does. There are many factors that influence cardiovascular health.
Thank you so much I appreciate you so dearly for bringing this to people''s attention. The vast majority don’t need statins but doctors in the .uK have to offer as on their protocol. Read Dr Malcolm Kendrick’s book. They also keep lowering the target level!
Doctors type in your disease, age, and the program lists medications you need to be on. You just have to ask the doctor the numbers on each medication. Do your own research on how each medication, how it works, side effects and find a balance between what works for you and what does not. You are responsible to work with your doctor for the best balance with life style chances and medications. Your doctor is required to give you full disclosure of each medication they prescribe. Most doctors are truly only interested in helping there patients. They love to have a patient that asks questions and wants to live a healthier life. Saying no should not end in gaslighting from a true competent doctor.
@@user-mu5ug2wt8t I have never found that to be true. Not one Dr ever has offered to discuss the contraindications of any drug. You must not be from this planet? @@joanneadamovich8114 sorry, my comment was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek and a reference to the work by Dr Nick Norwitz. Those of us on a keto/carnivore diet may have higher cholesterol. Dr Nick demonstrated that he could lower his levels using Oreos. Interesting study, he’s an excellent resource. Genetically modified ingredients aside, I’d still rather take that risk than touch a statin.
Statins should be outlawed in the United States I was on 40 mg lovastatin for years and had leg pains so bad I could not walk I stopped taking and I feel 10 years younger i. Also had memory loss got it all back and will never take statins again
Its all about numbers and box ticking and not the patient. And what have statins done to your body by artificiality lowering your cholesterol? Has your doctor ever talked to you about the importance of your microbiome health? You are spot on Dr Dhand.
I had my blood pressure taken by a nurse at the doctors & was a little high. A was given a prescription for statins. I never took them but got a blood pressure machine & monitor it myself. This video is superb & thank you.
Statins gave me a severe myalgia, so severe I had trouble walking. That was some years ago. My cardiologist recognized it when I hobbled into my checkup. I was all set to go to an orthopedic doctor as I felt I had damaged something in my back. I had no idea muscle pain was a side effect, common in many, severe in some. The cardiologist took me off statins and my back immediately improved. To this day that spot in my back will occasionally flair up. The doctor says might not ever go away. And for what, for a drug that has no effect on patients who have never had a heart issue. Insane. But this taught me a lesson. When the clot shot came out I said hell no. Smelling like a rose on that one.
Fortunately I was lucky enough to get a quinta bypass, but unfortunately the statins drained all my trace elements, and left with me with 5% str/stam. CKD, and diabetes. With radical diet change, and correct supplementation, I am recoverying well, up to 40%, at approx 1% gain per day. Note it was my own self-harm that caused this initial heart probs. Thank you for your share.
I had a Doctor appointment recently and I had high average borderline cholesterol scores. They recommended a statin but I refused it because they had crippling effects on my mother’s health. They never offered to look more closely to analyze my LDL to determine if it was truly harmful or not or to further assess my circulatory system to determine if I had a problem. We eat a very healthy whole food organic diet with no sugar, no refined carbohydrates, no seed oils, no junk food or fast food. I don’t smoke or drink too much either. 2:20 My husband had a scan a couple of years ago and they were amazed that he had no signs of blockage and was 70! We eat the same diet so I doubt I actually have any health issues either. My vitamin D was low average so they recommended that I take twice the daily allowance of Vitamin D which can cause liver damage in high dosages. I told them I would take the daily recommended amount and spend more time in the sun. That was a 430 dollar appointment! 😊
I am a retired physician...... I noticed that every 15 to 20 years opinion and recommendations do a 180. I was in practice long enough to see it switch, switch back and then switch once more...all in 40 years.
In Kingman Arizona the KRMC Hospital and all of their affiliate offices are now recommending statins to all patients age 18 and older as a "preventative" even if your cholesterol numbers are fine and without testing for many patients. It's horrific to hear them say it.
About 25 years ago, my pcp ordered statins for me. It got to the point I could hardly walk. She said another statin would do the trick. Nope! I think over the years, I have tried every kind of statin there is, and my pcp was pretty miffed that I did not stay on them. Come up to the last six months, I was diagnosed with my carotid arteries 55% blocked and statins yet again ordered. I refused and did research on nattokinase and took it for six months. Doctor ordered carotid ultrasound thinking I was still on statins. My blockage went from 55% to 30%. He was giddy about my lowered blockage. When I told him I didn't take statins, but nattokinase. He was none too happy. I continue to take nattokinase.
I like what you are doing. I got a CAC score a few years ago of 420. I took a statin for a while and a low dose aspirin, a beta blocker and an ace2 inhibitor. Once I found out about nattokynase and vitamin K2-7, both of which are in natto, I started making my own natto at home and have some most days. I also stopped the medications. I am hoping to persuade my cardiologist to send me for another CAC scan
I appreciate your videos and integrity. I hope that you represent what our healthcare system will become in the years ahead as many people become aware of the lies and misinformation we’ve been fed on so many levels.
I had a blood test soon after I had covid, as I walked into the room, the practice nurse was very curt. She said, do you realise you are diabetic? I said ' no ' she said ' well you are!'. She then went on to print off reams off paper and told me she was putting me on statins. My Hba1c result was 5.9, I refused the statins and said, I would increase my exercise routine and continue fasting. My diet is very good and does not include processed foods, but she said she didn't agree with fasting, I should graze instead! I suggested looking at the numbers in 3 months time after another blood test. 3 months later my Hba1c had dropped to 5.3, I saw a different nurse and she was happy with the progress. I no longer go to my local medical centre, thanks to people like Dr Dhand, I do my own research and manage my own health, I refuse to be dragged into their Web. I am 67 and do not take any medication. Thank you for your very informative videos.
I don't believe in fasting either. Just eat less at mealtime and your body will become accustomed to it. Obviously you were probably overweight to begin with.
My husband lost his memory after being prescribed a large dose of Zocor. It was devastating and irreversible. I am so glad people and physicians are finally waking up to the dangers of these overprescribed drugs.
My spouse's doctor said because he is diabetic, he had to take statins as ADA- American Diabetes Association advised. He took for a short time, felt horrible, but worse- his blood sugar soared. We looked up the side affects of statins. HELLO! One was: raises blood sugar! Next appt, doctor asked why my husband wasnt taking statins and reiterated he HAD to. Whereupon my husband told her about his high blood sugar results because of the drug. Doctor looked up side effects right there and then, and was shocked to see high blood sugar listed. She didnt even know!!! How many of her other diabetic patients are taking statins? We have to be proactive for our own well-being. Trust in doctors is eroding.
I think at 70 I am too old to affect the system. But how can the people insist and get medical services to return to where they used to be. I got sick in the Philippines and of course there I had no insurance. The cost was reasonable, intense search for the problem was competent and affective. I was slack jawed thinking I have not had this kind of care in the USA for 30 years.
Have been taking 10mg Zarator statin for 35 years. Ever increasing vision problems and brain fog for the last twenty years. Decided to stop taking the statin 4 weeks ago. Vision problems and brain fog have disappeared together with less joint pain. Beware of statins.
My PCP haunted me to get blood work done. So I told the tech I needed bloodwork and filled out testing on my own lab slip. I was under stress actively going thru menopause and just spent the week before misbehaving in the Florida Keys. My cholesterol was up and he ordered a statin. I did not even get it filled. My PCP who ran an office full of more drug reps then patients Mon thru Fri was hit by a car the 1st day of his retirement. He did not survive. Karma is real.
Just out of the hospital 11 days, for gastroparesis, and i feel worse now. Started me on atorvastatin, which i quit taking a long time ago and thinking this may be why I feel worse. I have a-fib, and now on blood thinner, too, because my a-fib caused a clot that went to my spleen and killed part of it. Nearly brokedown last night due to feeling so bad and sleep deprivation, and chronic pain...plus new severe pain in my groin. I cancelled all my home health appointments and other visits tuesday just so could get some sleep! Concerned all yhis culd be triggered worse by atorvastatin.
You've blown me way doc..I've had a quintople by pass and still taking a 40g statin..my gut tells me I don't need.....stress ultra processed food go...your heart will reward you.❤
I would put it at a 100% too many people. You may get 3 more days of life if you have had had a heart attack. Compared to the side effects is it worth it?
Thanks, Doc! We've gone on a 4-hour eating window. My hubby has lost 20 lbs. and I 30. We've cut out fast food. Working on carbs. A ways to go, but we're going.
The effect of recent years is huge distrust of medical field. My husband might need the statins but refuses to take because of the side effects he experienced from them. Every year they still try to get him to take.
I’m in the U.K., why when you get to a certain age doctors want to find illness and prescribe medication, when you just age. If you’re ok, what’s the point
