I want to take the time to let you guys know a little about myself. My name is Justine and I started my RU-vid channel in November of 2018 in hopes to reaching out to those who are going though IVF. I wanted my IVF journey to be heard and radiated with comfort to those who are going though this.
My channel took a turn when we found out that after 2 unsuccessful IVF transfers, we decided to take a break and do some traveling.
Since then I’ve been vlogging my travels and daily life and here we are, ready to start up again with IVF.

It’s actually very common in many Samoan families to be mixed European specifically German, British/Irish and Dutch.. and as for why so many samoan families also have Chinese blood in them is because Chinese laborers were shipped to samoa by the Germans during colonization to work in crop fields

Just Justiney Nah not really your an outlier and your White and Chinese mix happened quite recently most Samoans are full blooded with no admixture

That small Chinese percetage probably came from her Filipino side rather than the Samoan side

Filipinos from the Philippines do have a mix of Chinese blood too. Chinese immigrated to the island before the Spaniards discovered the Ph.

You’re so beautiful! Very fascinating. Love to see a fellow Afakasi, as I did not grow up with much connection to my Samoan side and still making sense of my ethnic identity. It seems you might be around 1/3 Samoan? Me too! I also have a small percentage of Tongan and Maori and the remainder is European.

As Polynesian (as you’re Samoan) you will have more Austronesian blood line compared to Melanesian’s and Micronesians. I’ve got 40% Samoan, and 40% Chinese/Viet/Lao and remainder Eastern Polynesian New Zealand Maori/Hawaii/Tahiti

Don't confuse Filipino and Austronesian. Filipino is there beside the Austronesian because Filipinos are the largest Austronesian group genetically, I mean our population are still 90% Austronesian. Linguistically, Indonesian are the largest one but since we're talking about DNA, they aren't because most of their population are 60% Austroasiatic that's why they are group with Mainland Southeast Asian rather than Austronesian same with Malaysians. But of course Indonesians are the largest group of people who still speak an Austronesian language. I think the only difference is Pacific Islander had a significant amount of Melanesian DNA while Filipinos don't.

23andme dosen't have a Polynesian category like Ancestry does. Since Polynesians were made up of Austronesians and Melanesians during ancient times, those are the two groups that will represent your Poly ancestry on 23andme. So it can get confusing for people since the Austronesian category also covers other ethnicities like Filipinos etc

Thanks for sharing your story, now you have your DNA results there are many more analyses you can do with your DNA data. For example, you can get a diet report from DNA Power, find an online date using DNA Romance,... the list of possible genetic analyses is very long. Welcome to your genome :-)

@@12gaugepolymonkeygang28 Actually, the Germans only congregated Samoan's with Title's, they didn't inner mingle with the common folks, and quite a few of the Chinese plantation worker's were afraid of messing around with the Samoan men. Now mind you, the plantation worker's were all men, and it was the Samoan women who sought out the Chinese men.So the greater population of Samoan's are Pure Samoan, such as myself whose test results came back and told me what I already knew.....lol. Wasted a hundred bucks......lol.

@@JustJustiney is ur mom really Samoan tho? Lol hella Filipinos claim to be Samoan and they do they DNA test and because it says "pacific islander" they claim to be Hamo. When you do a DNA test Philippines is broken down into the "pacific islander/polynesian" category along with Indonesian and other Asian islands.
