Both blundered, Pragg blundered in time pressure, Gukesh too blundered in time pressure not realising the repetition, But yeah gukesh should've won the game.
Exactly. Anyone who "uses the rules" in any sport is justified and moral, and should sleep well. That being said, I have seen chess players make a "useless move", essentially "passing" their turn, if they see that their opponent made an obvious mistake of the hand, such as a mouse slip. That is their choice.
What's your rating then? Can't people even have an opinion? You are so soft you get offended by others opinion 🤣. Btw it's coming from a dude who is 1872@@adityajalan5556
Bro if gukesh didn't blunder that three fold repetition he would have won the tournament because then he didn't need to play the tie breaker It really shows how just a move can make you lose a whole chess tournament
@@astitvamishra apparantely all other players played it in olympiad style , china players helped each other by getting neceassary draws and wins, van forest helped anish by fighting hard and getting draws against tournament leaders even vidit in wildr said that he had to beat nodirbek inorder to have any one from india as the champ and then theirs pragg who even though was in a completely losing position still claimed the draw making gukesh lose as well as restrict any indian to win the tournamnet
That's the best thing he is going through bcz now he will not forget it lifelong. And his comeback will be a blast. But hats off to pragg he is good with memory and he should practice with his skills more
Some people commented about the candidates final list as weak contestants, watching the mini candidates, the candidates is gonna be a full fledged entertaining pack
It's an individual game not a team game please. If it was tennis you would expect the same? Plus it would be ethically wrong to lose to help someone. What if others exploit this to promote their player. I feel very sad for Gukesh too but it's not Praggs mistake.
Wait, wtf are you seriously blaming Pragg?? Everybody had their chances in the tournament where somehow they could how won "if" they didn't do some mistakes or blunders in their games. Gukesh was winning yet in time trouble he, by mistake did the threefold repetition. It's not pragg's fault for claiming a draw. Nobody wants to lose rating points and nobody should ever "let" an opponent win a game, it would then be just a form of match fixing, and pretty soon there would definitely have been a controversy regarding this, and even if gukesh would have won in this manner there would be no value left to the victory as most people would consider this as unfair. Gukesh also had his chances against Alireza twice but didn't capitalize on them. Ofc he played awesome chess in this tournament, he is a brilliant player and still very young and would have many more opportunities in the future.
Do you think that Gukesh would've earned and be proud of his title fair and square if won like that? It's no different than cheating PRAGG would've thrown his game. Guki would've done the same if the places were switched and more, also it was winning and not an assured mate, anything could've happened under the time pressure, hell what if PRAGG beat Guki? Come on man!! It's not the first time and won't be the last time either that they'll be at each other's throat over the board.
The comments are really worrying and it happens everytime... We need to understand that it's an individual sport where everyone's on their own... Being from the same country does not matter.. I fear the same thing will happen in the candidates with 3 players out of 8...there will be some "he spoiled his chance.. Etc "... But the players don't deserve this.. They worked so hard to get to the toughest tournament not to be frowned upon for wanting to win...... Also if some players from other countries (Russia, China mostly) do these... It should be frowned upon as that's not fair and ruins the competitive nature.
I don't think it should creste drama if it was happening online people would not say anything because the system already claimed it is a draw But why drama in reality?😅
What appropriate measures should be taken if Magnus Carlsen invades the Engine Chess World Cup, simply start holding a barbecue in honor of the six-time champion Stockfish, and start inviting everyone to eat Magnus' picanha, and even inviting Stockfish to eat a barbecue
I guess Bishop to h3 was winning right? Cause then if Pragg takes by pawn, Gukesh takes the Rook, then Queen has to slide from protecting the h3 and Qh3 would have sealed the game. While if Pragg doesn't take by the Pawn at g7, in next move there was Discovery check...
