I've known this for 20 plus years. If an officer has any accusation made against them of racism, homophobia or anything of that sort then their career if effectively over even if the accusations are proven to be untrue. An officer told me this when I asked why gay men meeting and exposing themselves in woodland next to a school was not being dealt with. The minority groups know they have this as a weapon.

Thank you for your years of service, I can't imagine it was easy given the current climate. I fear that all the good officers will resign and the gaps will be filled with the new generation who shouts racism/bigotry/islamophobia at every turn.
