The fact that they are even debating allowing sexually graphic books like these in public schools is just unbelievable. What has happened to this country?
The government wanted to control your kids...which started long ago. Unfortunately parents simply let the schools become the "babysitter." Now its too late to stop the madness. When voters chose to elect evil leaders. This is what you get. Slow undermining of American citizens. For God's sake. Stop the madness while you can. Start a movement to stop this.
Also that person who suggest an act of sexual abuse isn't erotic because it is abuse is full of pure nonsense. How confused would a kid be if they were aroused by that. This is extremely disturbing content for even HS in my opinion.
Yeah, he's good. His aww shucks old country boy stuff sorta hides his Vanderbilt, Oxford, Virginia Law education. As soon as his "victim" thinks he's just some ole country boy, he's already got'em. And, it' is fun to watch him work.
It's a shame he had to read that, but if he doesn't read it, the leftists will accuse parents of trying to ban To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, the Bible, etc.
No but like most books written at that time that shouldn’t be hold to the same standard of what is socially acceptable use the term negro to refer to black people. Funny thing is in many Latin base languages negro means black as the color
@@kirayoungblood using terminology from the era (which helps readers to actually contextualize the thought process and mindsets of the time which is a great teaching aid) is completely different than vulgar graphic depiction of a young man having “pain and pleasure” from being sexually assaulted.
Bless Senator Kennedy for putting it all out there! It breaks my heart that so many people have been asleep for so long that this type of thing has been flying under the radar. Having said that, people, specifically parents, are awake now, and I think it’s amazing that from now on these school boards just may be held accountable!!
The fact this is even a conversation is downright Terrifying. This is the wolf in sheep’s clothing- “that book is about sexual abuse- how else will they learn what it is?” And people are so dumb they cannot see that explaining and painting a picture of graphics sexual acts to children IS ABUSE.
In my country there is a national child reading week, and last year the author who was asked to write a special edition for that also wrote a short story "about abuse". It was about a boy and the coach of the football team. Instead of teaching kids to set limits when adults do things they do not want, the kid in the story was "turned on" and thought it was "exciting". It felt like I was reading a pedophile's fantasy. Disgusting.
I love that this was read out loud today and no microphone was shut off. Now can we allow the parents to read the pornographic words at school board meetings with out their mics not being cut off?! It's sad that our legislators are allowed to read this aloud but concerned parents are silenced and labeled domestic terrorists.
Agreed. Saw a pastor that had his mike shut off and he was evicted from the building. These monster school boards must be and will be stopped. They are all voted in individuals. Just remember that next time their term is up.
This is the filth they have been pushing onto children for years. Any person that has actively pushed this filth on children needs to be held accountable for.
@nooneofconsequence1251 The question was not answered imo. Those books should not be in school libraries where minors have access. For parents who want those books, they can go to the local public library or order them online. The passages read w/b considered soft porn..imo.
We shouldn’t be surprised, the Left for the most part has been given over to a reprobate mind, reference Romans 1 and see if it’s not like looking into a mirror to what we are seeing play out.
The young man attempted to justify the smut x rated content as a learning tool to teach about rape. Umm, from what I heard, none of it sounded forced or violent. Word salad to condone and as my late mother said years ago when this began to creep into many areas, “desensitizing children for their own future use and abuse.” Seems as though she may have been correct
@beckymocniak No one, I repeat No one, is pushing these book on your children...these books were written for youth/young adults at least 16 years of age (16 is the age of consent in majority of states by the way). You are being lied to by these politicians so that they can maintain their control over you.
John Kennedy is unique and respectable to all. I watch his effect on people who are unable to con him because his questions and demeanor are true of heart. It always gets the person in blatant truths... In my heart, he projects this question, "How can this frame of mind be true? How did love of family, Country and God disappear and with decisions you're making against "We the People?" What happened to all of you?
They're not talking about censorship, they're talking about age and location restrictions on what material is available to kids. What some kids may or may not have been exposed to is irrelevant. This is about parents having the power and agency to decide what their kids can or can't be exposed to. I do not let my kid watch certain movies, or play certain games. A 9 year old doesn't need to be reading 50 shades of gray, nor should they be reading erotica in school libraries, regardless of orientation or ideological identity .
This is sick and disgusting. I have always been against homeschooling because of the social aspects…however, if I had children, there’s no way in hell I would send them to these schools now. Soooo sad. I loved school and had always enjoyed it and had fun. Our country is in so much trouble. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😞😞😞
There are thousands of Homeschooled children, now adults who are SUCCESSFUL in their CAREERS and SOCIAL life. Don't buy into the "social awkwardness" bullshit. You can connect with other homeschooling parents.
My area has some private schools, Catholic, Mennonite and there's this Faith Fellowship church reachable from my hometown with a school. There's a price though. Faith Fellowship's school actually use an old public school building.

When you hear the two side by side; common sense vs. diddle daddle...the libs should be ashamed of opening their mouths to spout their diddle daddle.
The predators in control of your government would...and do - and they won't stop, they must BE stopped- tough thing to do in a nation of mostly cowards
So a solution. If a parent has objections to passages in a book, then the school to keep the book must take it to the next set of meetings of every level of government in that county. From the school board to the city to the county government meetings. The passages in dispute must be read aloud in those sessions and the governing body, with a recorded vote, must approve that the book be kept. If it passes all the government meetings, it is kept. If it fails, then it is not kept.
Who would allow the book that says "There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." That book is in all of the school libraries, and some schools have it as the main textbook for all classes, starting in preschool.

His next move should be to ban that book that says "There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." That book is in all of the school libraries, and some schools have it as the main textbook for all classes, starting in preschool! Republicans need to join together to get that most filthy and pornographic of books out of children's hands!
Absolutely. They should also ban that disgusting book that says: "And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. This level of description of a sexual act in a children's school library would be no less welcome if it were about heterosexual acts. Don't pretend that this has anything to do with "homophobia"
@@M-uj2tr But there are also such books, and they get even worse than what Sen. Kennedy read. Disclaimer: ANY books of this sort shouldn't be where kids are.
I was a public school teacher for 35 years. I got out in 2016 for this very reason. The young school teachers are eaten up with this crap. I would advise any parents to home-school or private school their children if possible, Just mention the Bible, and young teachers will lose their minds. This all comes from the instruction they receive in college. We have serious troubles with education today.
We need the older generation of teachers like yourself to stick up against this and bring it to light. Because as you said the younger teachers have been indoctrinated at college/university level and soon they will be indoctrinating children at high school and primary school level. Then within just a few years this will all be considered normal and nobody will remember how it was before. It’s insane.
looking at this isn't it that the state Governors and local governmental/non governmental bodies are fully onboard with making sure the funding is in place, that staff are upto speed, that shelves are stocked and support workers and advocates, lawyers, pressure groups, media and a few health experts including behavioural specialist are all ensuring this stuff ia readily available to encourage the separation of kids from families during their educational years. Billions must be being funnelled into these sexual identity family break down programs at both local and national level. this is not isolated at all but a concerted deliberate policy stemming from the academic to federal political party administration classes determined to demoralize the next generation to push for a future national mental health service program treating clients created by malicious politically motivated activists posing as teachers today?
I would have just as much a problem with you pushing the bible on my kids as i would if you were pushing "gender queer" on them... why cant educators leave their personal agendas at home and stop trying to indoctrinate our kids with their political and religious BS? they are there to learn math, history, SCIENCE, language, music, and art. I dont see **insert whatever specific religion you happen to subscribe to** anywhere on that list, nor do I see any room for the crap Mr. Kennedy was reading in this hearing. I can only imagine what you would say if someone tried to immerse your child into Islam or Hinduism or something. just put yourself in others shoes and understand that primary school is a place for political and religious neutrality, and learning fundamental information about our world.

It's that simple. The US government is taking the freedoms of the population away one step at a time and they're doing it under the guise of "compassion". That's exactly how it's done. While I don't think a school library should have these kinds of things... you're pretty delusional if you don't think that these kids haven't seen or done worse. Just about any 10 year old these days with access to the internet on their mobile phone will have looked up hardcore porn, both boys and girls. And there's really no shortage of young girls exposing themselves on the internet to strangers. They're at the age where they want attention and with an abundance of grown men on the internet calling them pretty and cute, many of them will do things that will gain them more attention. Having books like this in a school library really isn't all that an issue hen you consider these other facts. Banning them isn't going to solve anything. Teachers will still try to indoctrinate children with their woke morals. Children will still look up porn since they have access to it. And some of them will end up actually creating porn because it's easy to get attention and compliments through the internet. As a parent i decided what movies my kids were allowed to watch, whose homes they were allowed to visit, what books they read, what foods and snacks they ate. I completely understand that there were times, when they were exposed to things, in my absence, that I would have NOT allowed them to be exposed to, but not usually from our education system. ALL books in the school library should be overseen by the parents and only the parents. Every parent should be able to read the books and vote. The majority of parents would agree that this filth should be banned. The decision cannot be left up to some random librarian, that is pushing their own agenda. That's called indoctrination.
Unfortunately I have seen school board meetings where parents actually wanted these available for their children. If they want that then they should buy them themselves and provide it... and then be prosecuted for child abuse.
How many parents do you know that would/could take the time to read a book? Most parents are too busy working trying to provide the necessities for their family.

This is absolutely unacceptable that the subject is even being raised in a senate hearing. Books such as those that Senator Kennedy referenced have no place in school. NONE!
Biology teaches us that any trait that ends in extinction is a negative trait. Science, not politics, sociology, etc. I have no issue with consenting adults in private doing what they want sexually. I do have a problem when proselytizing to elementary school students, an agenda that biology proves to be a disease. Ironic how god is not allowed to be brought into a public school, but graphic descriptions of anal sex are. We are doomed.

Some of the most wonderful emotional experiences on earth are exploring the new world of having a loved one. These books would take that away from children. Innocence is a precious treasure
There are ratings on movies so parents can get an idea of whether the movie is suitable or not. But parents aren't in school with their children to help screen these books beforehand and I'm pretty sure no parent expects an X-rated book would be an option in a school library! This is disgusting!
I remember not being allowed to rent Jurassic Park as it was pg 12 and I was 11. But kids can take out this explicit content. Kids will read these books and try it out thinking it's ok for their age. Protecting kids innocence is so important. 😮
A child could read this book in the library and never even bring it home and a parent would never know! This is wicked!! So sad that our country has elevated personal freedom over the good of all especially our children!
I was a school librarian for 22 years in a small, conservative rural town. The books Sen. Kennedy read excerpts from would be (and should be) considered pornographic. Children do not need to be subjected to books about sexual intercourse or any type of sexual activities. The morals of our society have decayed to the point that anything and everything is appropriate. This is wrong on so many levels.
I am guessing, that if you opened a box of books destined for the shelves and such a book was in the box it would have turned up missing. When he asks whether the librarians get to decide or the parents, it is sad that apparently the librarians don't seem to have morals or the desire to back up the parents.
That’s why Jesus Christ is going to unleash His full vengeance upon this vile world, because of what they’re doing to children. He’s going to take the children to an eternal kingdom, and rain fire down on the wicked, and nobody is going to stop Him, any more than the people of Noah’s day stopped the fIood. There’s a reason why every single culture has a story of a world wide flood that only a few people and animals survived in a boat, because the biblical flood is a true part of history, and the reason God did that is because of the same eviI things people back then were doing, which is being repeated by eviI people today. The only difference is that God said the next time He destroys the world, it’s going to be by fire, and not water. Even so, come LORD Jesus!
We don't have them in our schools where I live in Indiana either. People would flip tf out if something like that made it's way into our schools. I agree with your comment. And I blame the academics. When liberals/progressives/communists and marxists (Obama is one) took over all of academia (and it's now creeping in some private schools), education of our children has turned into "a little education" and a LOT of indoctrination and telling parents "we own your children, you do not have the right to own your own children". THAT is communism/marxism. Period. Our Country is in trouble.
Not to mention the fact these schools are failing to teach basic STEM subjects, kids are failing, but they want to take time out for sexual ideology instead of teaching what they need.. it's insidious and horrific and if allowed to continue, that generation will be a mess, society will be a mess.

Never mind - it's a rhetoric question because if you have, you might've noticed that this is a deep and timeless American classic with value well beyond of what you can see... In the meantime, you have not answered MY question: are the books kennedy was quoting in school libraries?
Incredibly disturbing. Our political/administrative leaders, for the most part, should be fired en masse. Need to hit the reset button on the entire system.
As a Louisiana resident, I love watching Senator Kennedy exposing this filth. As a former educator, I'm disgusted that any school system, administrator, or educator would allow something like this, on school grounds. As a parent, I'd be pissed, if books like this were being allowed or encouraged by my kids' teachers...
This is of course all important but the greater problem is the accessibility of filth on the internet for those same kids. The people behind it all are the same ones running your media and Hollywood
OMG. How do schools justify 'teaching' morality? Children who experience this suffer later in life. We see too many criminals who say that childhood violation is what gets them in trouble.
"Teaching morality?" Are you saying that no book is out of bounds so that kids can be self taught on matters of morality???? What logic are you going for here?
There is no more noble a fight than for our children. God bless you Senator Kennedy for fighting for our children. Who on earth could support this filth?
I guess you don't realize how INFURIATING this is to us "normal" folks! And Forbes apparently KNOWS this, which is why they normally turn off the comment section on their videos dealing with the "transgender" issues.
It's because fools only see it as an issue of "oppressed vs oppressor" and any accusations against any singular member or aspect related to the "oppressed" group is an all encompassing attack against the entire group. The reality is much more complex and every single group large enough has it's bad apples. Abuse of people, slavery, starvation, genocide, etc... Every "good" group has it's monsters and every "bad" group has it's paragons.
I went to school a long time ago. We had similarly “graphic” books in my middle school. It’s absolutely ridiculous how these old folks have deluded themselves into thinking their schools never had anything like this.
Do you think a 17 year old should not be allowed to read books that reference sexual abuse? Obviously there is a line that needs to be drawn and children range drastically in their maturity depending on their age. But the senator was very disingenuine here, he wasn't really looking for answers to his questions.
In all my years of schooling, we never found books in the library or any classroom with that type of curriculum as ready by Kennedy. Should sexual abuse be taught in school? Well, it all depends on how you teach it. A book in a library should only serve a purpose if the parent is reading it with their child, explaining what's going on. A lot of these politicians are rapists themselves, so at the very least, they should want some teaching about sexual abuse in schools since that are all parents themselves. Home teaching is not available to most Americans.
I love how he tries to take a dig at Kennedy by saying it was disturbing that he read it. He’s trying to clap back at someone for calling them out for pushing sexually explicit reading material. 💀 Not the effect he intended and only exposed himself. 😂
It struck me that if he thinks it's disturbing to hear those words come out of Kennedy's mouth..... how disturbing would it be to hear those same words come out of an 8-years old mouth as he reads aloud? This is shameful beyond words.
If a parent approved this, they do not deserve kids. And these people definitely deserve prison. There is no decision that needs to be made. I’m so happy to see him pushing these pedophiles down.
It is absolute madness and social indoctrination of young minds and hearts jaded by the profane antics of liberal agendas disrupting the sanctity of children. This is so Offensive to all people and in fact, goes way beyond the scope of so professed, a teaching of abusive behavior. The obvious over-the-top use of a “teaching outline” is so pornographic that it totally distorts their very own claim. It IS a targeted abusive approach to teaching young readers and triggering beyond the scopes of their life experience in understanding the limitations of teachings appropriate to a child’s age and condition within acceptable boundaries of their lives. This trash better stop. Only a parent should have the awareness and full disclosure from the schools who even offer such materials to children. This is truly sickening and in fact, a coordinated effort to disrupt the appropriate applications in learning materials for young / innocent minds, bodies and hearts.
