We have a bunch of trips planned for the Mayan Riviera area for the fall so thats good news We were there outside Playa del Carmen the first week of June and the seaweed was pretty bad but we expected that It always gets worse in the warmer times

Hi Howard! Definitely good news for you! Yeah, Playa del Carmen is always a bad spot for the seaweed. When we did a day trip there in April, there was tons of it on the beach by the Cozumel ferry terminal. Glad that things are turning around though!

Is it good to visit cancun in august?

Hi Ishani! Well it’s always nice to visit that destination but you need to be aware that August is pretty much peak hurricane season. You may not experience one but you might have more muggy or rainy days than normal. September is similar. If you’re ok with super hot weather, enjoy it!

Hi Frenchy! Oh wow that'll definitely be good news for you although there really wasn't much to speak of when I was there in April / May. Are you booked into a regular room or Vantage Club? I ask because I heard that the Mediterranean restaurant started opening up for a la carte breakfast for Vantage Club guests just last week. One added perk for booking the upgrade!

Hi XXXBlanco! Well that's the unfortunate thing - it's not like it's going away or dissipating - it's just moving to another area - likely Dominican Republic & Jamaica. I guess it at least gives Mexico a break from it!

@@louiserosier4451 Well the biggest thing the government did to improve things was to make it illegal for resorts to dig a hole in the beach & bury the seaweed there - all that did was ensure that the beach was stinky & bugs were everywhere from the decaying seaweed. Now they have to cart it away, so that helped a lot. Having less of it to deal with in general would be even better though!

@@SAMIAMFNX The one I got was $45 CAD but I just checked Amazon & it's not currently in stock. I don't think it's needs to be super expensive but I've heard some terrible stories of hidden cameras in EVERY room (yup even the bathroom!) so I think it was a smart purchase.
