The problem is the same universities have been more than happy to ban speakers and dismiss staff on the grounds of someone claiming 'hurt feelings ' No 'context' required. no action was required, 'bad thoughts ' were more than enough. That is just plain wrong. Students are individuals who go to whichever institution they can to get an education. Even though some of these schools may have questionable values it does not mean each and every student who goes there holds those same values. People hiring for their companies should do thorough interviews of potential candidates to determine if that candidate will be a good employee for them and not just assume that they are good or bad based on what school they got their degree from.

It’s nice to see such microscopic views of three elite universities but it goes so much deeper and now begins in our elementary schools. Time for a real deep dive and restricting of the educational landscape. I believe it starts with a clean sheet of paper and generating the core values and objects. Followed by generating standard operating procedures (SOP’s) including an oversight board plan. Then get the approvals from whom ever needs to be a part of this process as defined by the SOP(s), which is just the beginning of reform that is needed to undo the corruption that has plagued our nations educational institutions for decades. I am not saying this is easy, but necessary and warranted. It wasn’t messed up over night and it will not be fixed overnight either.

I appreciate your presentation of facts! I think that any kind of protest on college campus or just college territory should be forbidden. The campuses, the libraries, all the buildings of universities should be used for studying and for peaceful relaxation and living.

Maybe U.S. lawmakers should look at regulating/limiting foreign donations and gifts to our colleges and universities. They seem to come with strings attached and expectations of influence to curriculum and activities on campus.

Harvard has been long known for unethical behavior such as research dishonesty and falsification of data. Studies that come out of this school should be heavily scrutinized and taken with a grain of salt.

According to the Pew Research Center, only 1 in 4 members of the Jewish faith in the US have visited Israel. Broadly, that means 3/4s of the people being threatened and harassed on college grounds probably had no say in Israel’s policy toward Gaza. Taking out frustrations with policies on people who have no say on said policy is just wrong. No major religion advocates the focus of rage on the uninvolved. Assuming that someone is guilty of crimes by association is evil.
