Congrats on the partnership, I love that you actually took a partnership that viewers of the channel are interested in instead of trying to upsell us on a mobile game or a beauty product. I had a quick look and 650S can be bought in Europe in the ~€150k range now BUT may trade as low as €125-130k. That screams high repair costs imo as the cars with some warranty outstanding aren't trading in this low of a range.
@@fourwheeltrader Indeed a great content & would love to see European analysis of these cars as well as I notice some are very attempting in US, but more often EU prices are higher generally speaking
I purchased a 650S spider in May of 2022 and I’m sure paid a premium at that time, but I am very happy with it and it has been extremely reliable and no extended warranty. I almost daily drive it and it is said that these cars love to be driven and behave much better when used more often, than just weekends for cars and coffee events.
Are you saying you have no warranty ? Had 2 McLaren’s it won’t be my last , but to own one without a warranty is financial suicide, get a warranty immediately 🤔
Bought a 720S in late May, understanding completely the price trends. Thus, I talked them down from $250k for a 408k USA MSRP 2018 with 11k miles because of some deferred maintenance. That said, I have still been shopping, I tend to do that, and 2018 - 2020 coupe 720S prices seem to all come out around the same - it seems the years have merged - and all start around $250k or so, asking, but I see the cars languish for weeks/months, some still for sale that were for sale in May, and now, hovering below $220k after some time on the market. Some, if not a performance model, but a lower spec Luxury or Base, getting down into the $210k-$200k range. So, I guess the prices I see are flattening, month/month, but they seem to be flattening closer to $210k from what I can see, for the 2018-2020 coupes.
Congratulation on the 50,000 subs. I love your channel. I have been watching for many years. Your information is very helpful when I am nearing a buying or selling decision. All the best!!!
I just bought a 600LT Spider in June this year. Will I lose money on it? Well, it was a CPO car with 1400 miles on it, so plenty of room for a big drop, but I bought the car I wanted and not the car that would suffer the least deprecation. Could have bought a Lambo or Ferrari if I wanted the best residuals, but honestly they are literally everywhere here (I am in South Florida) and they hold little interest for me.
Congrats, I owned a 600LT several years ago and had owned a lot of similar cars before and after…..as far as an amazing drivers car there isn’t really much better. The only reason I sold mine was because a 675LT Spider came up in a perfect spec
That's incorrect. Whoever told you that is just fearmongering. You should give your local Mac dealership a call and ask them about warranty and track use. I know plenty of Mac owners who track their vehicles and still have warranty.
well I own a 650s, love it, however the cost to maintain compared to my GT3, Huracan Performante, and Ferrari 458, the 650s is killing me $3500 annual service. Also, it throws code errors here and there that do not give me confidence on driving trips. So I am selling unfortunately at huge depreciated cost. Someone will get it for bargain price and it is faster than all the above.
That’s the price you pay for owning a McLaren, for me it’s more than worth it, they are the best drivers car on the market and worth the niggles and issues that ownership brings 👍
I agree, except it looks like Sotheby's Motorsport is different, the first online auction to have the services like verification, money handling, title handling, and other support more inline with live auctions than what we see from like BAT/C&B.
Comparing 720S to F488 and 570S to F430? Similar price points only because McLaren are much better cars regardless of the depreciation and myths about reliability.
I thought that too. Drove the 458, Huracan and 650s. 458 has the name, but honestly, the 650s and Huracan were lightyears ahead of the 458. Still love the look of the 458, but enjoy daily driving my 650s. Yep, decided on 650s over the Huracan.
Now compare these prices to the miles driven for each vehicle you will see that the Ferraris are clearly lower mileage and Ferraris suffer greater depreciation when they have comparable miles to a Mclaren
I am not sure this holds across the market. The 488 coupe, for example, has a median mileage of 8,7k and a 720S coupe of10k. However, the 488 loses on average 0.85% per 1000 miles while this is 0.97% for the 720S. This is just one example.
I just went off what is on Cargurus 2018 mclaren 720S Coupes on car has and average of 14k-15k miles of the 11 listed 2018 488 coupes have an average of 7-8k miles for the 7 listed Could you please do a market analysis on mileage Vs depreciation on 702s mclaren Vs 488 Ferraris this would be very interesting to gauge the impact miles has
Great vid as usual! Curious if you would do bmw i8... I'm not really interested buying it, but noticed they are pretty much back to pre-covid prices. Boy they were pretty inflated the last couple years.
Thanks! I have several older videos about the i8 on the channel, but you can find an updated trend in this video at 08:23 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pa_Oe5us1Yg.htmlsi=YtUdg6ExkCkjGKUP
That's because they are of poor quality. Both parts and workmanship. The only good thing about them is the engine and the carbon fiber tube. Everything else is junk.
