I’m not sure I’d say they design them like A derby but they do have a prototypical American style that’s part of the Alden ethos. That style of Oxford, really the last shape itself, doesn’t appeal to me as much as some others. That said Alden Derbies and Boots are out of this world. As is their collection of shell cordovan (though their approach to limiting color is off putting so I probably won’t buy anymore).
