7:05 What’s funny is how this is probably the most accurate cutscene in how a real life shinobi would maybe work. It’s still goofy and stereotypically trying to be a assassin, but at least he’s going for a disguise in a smart place and time to attack someone, and not using some weird weapon to do it.
The Geisha are gaining the trust of whoever they're going after. That way when she kills them, it's when they least expect it. It's implied when the Geisha fails; the game tells you that they couldn't find a suitable opportunity. Compared to the ninja where success and failure boils down to life and death
I tried to do that intentionally to make my brother laugh, but it ended up killing the daimyo instead. Neither of us had ever achieved that and it gave us an enormous shock
4:13 - The memories of all the Ninjas sacrificed and this happens in a 12/17% rate. "Just switched to another room. Damn Ninjas" ~Nobunaga. 4:44 - I didn't know Tanegashimas/Arquebuses have a pistol grip. 5:18 - Ah, I see all ninjas go to the Sengoku Prometheus School of Running Away From Things. Also, HEADSHOT. 5:45 - I don't think that's an actual weapon. I'm surprised that those other two kills doesn't count, even when there is 1 unit in the unit, they still appear. 6:38 - I've always wonder what does the Ninja do to that Yari Guard? Or that he wasn't aware the light was... moving. 6:41 - "He wasn't on the screen!" ~Ninja 7:08 - A Ballista kart? "LEEROY JENKINS!" ~Ninja 8:20 - Answer every unknown footsteps with a sword strike. 8:52 - Unfortunately, there isn't a success version. 9:32 - Not the hat! YOU DIE. *Throws Glaive/Guan Dao/idk*
Those Geisha, damn at 1:55 she f*cking broke his neck without touching the necklace and the Camo at 8:58 fantastic I also like how some of the Ninja's scenes makes it look like an rpg character you move around with. The whole 6:30 was amazing, especially the archer who shot 3 arrows in an instant. 9:30 HOW THE F*CK
just some corrections, 1:55 is quite odd but I guess within the range of possibilities, 8:58 wouldn't the ninja notice the geisha's black hair?, 6:30 either there were more or he's a fast shooter which wouldn't be believable but is still possible, 9:30 Mongol warriors didn't sleep with their weapons or helmets, and it's not possible to pierce someone with a glaive even if you have the strength of a mongol.
@@juliovielma8703 if you're referring to Lars Anderson, what he demonstrated is called "Trickshooting". It's done for the glamour and entertainment and uses bows and arrows which have far lighter draw weight than the ones which would have been used for military purposes. So that kind of technique would be incredibly hard to pull off with the bows and arrows with, say like a long bow, with draw weight around 60-70 lbs, which is made to provide enough power to kill deers and other animals. I doubt the bow that he used in that particular video has that much draw weight.
Can someone explain what happens with the target in the fail around 7:30? Like he shoots with the blowdart and the shadow freezes and gets weird, then someone snipes him with what sounds like a crossbow. I never figured out what was going on there.
I actually get it now. At first he missed then he tried to shoot again but accidentally swallowed his ammunition. See his mask it became deflated or something
@@omegacenturion6508 I see it now. At first it looks like the headgear flatten, you know something like plastic bottle out of air, but now that I look at it it's a crossbow dart/arrow
2:07 They are both Assasains. Assassin life and Death, they both meet for death, But, The Tide lands on both. There is no winner of the fight... There is only life and Death, Even IF they die, reincarnation will go on and the girls will be very different till they meet again.
Damn that Geisha was badass! I remember I used to put everything into upgrading my buildings just so I could murder my way to the shogunate with Geisha squads
@@Agirmetal Thanks, in my various play through I never managed to unlock the Geisha unit type, even when (in Shogun 1) I had specialized in covert arms; my Ninja were going across Japan eliminating all the other rival clans by assassinations and it was going well with only 1 clan left, then I failed the campaign because my Daimyo had managed to live to 85 and sit peacefully in his castle and die naturally without producing an heir.
Shogun: Total War was the first ever game from that studios with that concept. Everything was new back then, around 2000. It even came with a *Dutch Manual* for crying out loud. After that, they learned that Dutch gamers don't care, English is fine. I guess the animations were cut down a bit in gore because they now needed to comply to a much bigger audience.
@@AudieHolland They wanted to keep the game’s T rating for Shogun 2. Which was why the blood and gore DLC was released as a separate later DLC rather then being a part of the game.
That is correct. It's even in the in-game unit description - it says something along the lines of, the geisha may not always find a suitable opportunity, but she never fails and will keep hunting her prey until an opportunity presents itself.
