Yes,because he can pitch and is good at hitting.That is something only Babe Ruth as done..But their have been a couple others who were comparable: KenGriffey jr. was just as good.He was a great hitter,both for batting average and power.Also a gold glove outfielder.Bo Jackson was another great player.A MLB all star who could hit,run and throw.Who was also a NFL pro bowl running back.

I bought tickets to all the angels games at Fenway before he ended up pitching just to get a chance to watch him. Unfortunately because of his groin injury he kept getting pushed back so I missed it. But luckily since he’s a 2 way player I got to see him hit which is so nice as a fan, I can’t imagine seeing him both hit AND pitch as well!!

@@dbbaseball30 they need a better bullpen, that's where 90% of their problems are. They have great fielders and do really well at bat...and then it feels like they always blow solid leads in the 7th or 8th inning because of their mediocre bullpen just giving away hits left and right.

You ever hear of a guy called Babe Ruth? Shohei never played in a World Series, never pitched in a World Series, never hit a home run in a World Series, Babe Ruth did all this and more. Ruth also holds the record for the longest complete game pitched in playoff history 14 innings, it still stands to this day. Shohei might be the best both ways in bed , but he couldn’t carry Babe Ruth’s jock strap.

Ohtani has already done things The Babe never did though because he only played both ways in one season I believe. We’ll see in the end where he stands and although Ruth will no doubt have more home runs, Ohtani will have the better overall stats with his offensive, pitching and base stealing numbers. If health holds long enough that is.

They only had 7 teams. They pitched 150 to 200 the entire game, meaning they would've been way tired before the game ended and Ruth would've taken an advantage. They were only white players. Etc. That's what I meant. Compared to today, the worse player in the league today would've been great back then.

They're nothing but criminal organization that killed Tyler Skaggs and covered up the cause, while locked Trout away with money so Trout will never see the postseason and if they lock away Ohtani with money so that Ohtani never sees postseason, I along with many baseball fans, will be angry. Ohtani needs to move to title contending team. I want to see Ohtani wear a World Series ring. Unlike Tony Gwynn who was born, raised, and succeeded in San Diego, Ohtani is not born in Anaheim nor does he owe anything to Anaheim. Ohtani must leave. He's too good to stay with the Angels. He is the sole owner financially and operations wise too. Angels don't even have president of baseball operations because Arte Moreno runs everything. Arte Moreno ran the team down to the ground but in a shady tactic. He used Angels to generate revenue but never cared for the team. He uses Angels to make money for himself. He doesn't care if the team fails. He skimps out to trigger luxury tax to sign more talented players. Under his management, Angels will never play in the October. Ohtani deserves better. If you're an Angels fan, I will understand why you don't want him to leave. But anyone who is a baseball fan and Ohtani fan, we want Ohtani to have a great career and he can only achieve it by leaving the team to a better, title contending team during his prime. It's the ownership, Angels ownership is pretty terrible and it shows. They don't care because Trout and Ohtani are massive crowd draws so they keep making money regardless of how well they actually do. If the Angels just had a better bullpen and didn't blow their lead every other game they'd be a championship team for sure.

ironically, I read somewhere that the reason why he signed with Angels when he's posted is bc among all the team that talked to him, (SF,LA Dodgers, Yankees) they're the only one that let him pitch and hit. I bet all three of them regretted it by now
