Tracklist: 00:00 Unbodied 03:02 Nature of the Paradox 06:46 Shadows 10:55 Ascention 15:53 Conquerors 20:18 Superior 24:23 Golden Pendant 27:49 Ethereal 31:53 Faces behind the Stars 36:42 Destiny Crucified What's the song of your choice?
Shadows is easily the greatest song you guys have written IMO. My previous favorite was Creatures from the Mud, but I think this one tops it. The lead guitar in it is incredible! Conquerors and Superior are also awesome, definitely my next favorite tracks after Shadows.
Just a heads up though in the video, at 16:15 the track changes from Conquerors to Nature of the Paradox for the rest of the song. Although probably too late to fix that!
Those vocals on this album are brilliant, and I truly feel all the efforts from the singer. He put a lot into this, and I think I couldn't be more thankful! Thanks guys, for bringing this to the world. I'm already in love!
I want Instrumental version of this album too. This band is about their cool music for me, not the lyrics. Lyrics makes it similar to the average MDM band like Trivium shit or something...
Instrumental version already exists - I bough physical version of Ethereal on their tour and it consists of 2 cd's, 2nd is instrumental version. They just have not uploaded it yet.
Not sure why so many people have an issue with the vocals. I think they sound better with each album. Exodus was amazing and I think this is a great follow up. I’m glad that they added more variety to the sound on this one with soft and beautiful parts alternating with aggressive fast parts. I also like all of the piano/keyboard, I think it goes great with their sound. Excellent job as always!
I agree completely! I felt like Supreme Truth was just a lot of monotonous growling and chugging but this album has so much more exciting stuff going on.
I think Mikee from Sikth has one of the most unique voices in metal, so I always felt that he doesn't quite sound like anybody else to me. But I think I see where you are coming from in a general sense. I think Andrew fits the sound of Shokran perfectly and for me this album balances the cleans/screams/growls really well.
I also find that vocalists in this genre tend to be unnecessarily criticized. Everyone is also trying to get their hands on instrumental versions of everything and I have no idea why. When you take out the vocalist in music like this, it's like listening to a metal band without the guitars or drums and it just sounds strange. I mean, there are some instrumental metal bands I listen to, but I generally get bored of their material a little faster, most likely for that reason.
I felt this way too - I really loved that Egyptian theme in Supreme truth and Exodus. While I am definitely enjoying this stuff, I am missing it a little.
I don't know if someone noticed that on 16:15 "Conquerors" Title changes to "Nature of Paradox" .. haha Anyway i really love this album.. Thanks Shokran!
Might seem like a strange comment but the last band I really, really got into was Mastodon which was a long time ago now! This is the first time i've come across modern metal a band I can get into! Seems to have a nod to the past like Dream Theatre etc and also modern metal and doing something new......10/10. Ill get every album!
This album is good and very differ from the last 2. I'm not sure if I like it as much as the others. Lots of soft vocals, which is good, bit my brain cant convince me its Shokran.. 🙄
And yrs later this album still slaps....everything about it is true art....hopefully you all are well in this forsaken time and i hope dmitry has recovered from his surgeries ive heard about....patiently awaiting a new masterpiece in the near future i hope
Gentlemen! Excellent addition to Shokran's discography. I love the progressive elements through out this album. The tone of those guitars and bass are phenomenal. The drums have some of the coolest fills, and syncopation through the beats. Also those solos on Shadows was epic! The screams are so menacing and I love them, and the cleans and harmonies put together are straight up magical. The album is just overall tightly put together, and I have been jamming this since it came out.
Can't wait to see you guys in Dublin if you come here! Solid album even if I still prefer Exodus but who knows, maybe it'll grow on me! As long as you play some Exodus during the tour :) Thanks all for your work and passion
