Tough series to predict. The Celtics had the best regular season record and the best regular season points differential in the league. Together, those are good reasons to pick them. However, Dallas' regular season record and stats aren't representative of this team, since it was before they traded for Gafford and Washington. Since those trades, the Mavs have taken it up a notch, and those guys have both been great in the playoffs. On the other hand, the Celtics have lost an important starter in Porzingis and it's unclear how healthy he'll be for this series. So I don't see how anyone can know who will win this one. Anyone who makes a prediction is just guessing.
@@mattkanters261 I think sometimes the education behind it provides a stronger basis than other times. For example, picking the Celtics or the pacers would be a *very* educated guess.
The Celtics won't have the scoring lulls that the Wolves had against the Mavericks . Luka will have to play defense in this series . If the Celtics break the Mavs defense in Boston , Mavs will get swept .

The Mavs legit ? Luka hides on the defensive end , guarding the player on the opposing team with the least offensive skills , in the Wolves series that was Rudy Gee . So , if you are suggesting that Luka is legit , you're partially right . If not for catching a break and playing the Wolves instead of the Nuggets , the Mavs would not be in the Finals . And another thing Ant Man is not on Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown level yet having said that , that the Mavs will be facing an Elite complete team for the first time in the Celtics . Boston in a sweep ! .

But the Celtics is the same team before and after (you could even argue the Celtics were stronger in the Regular Season because of a fit Porzingis). So let's look at the matchups during the regular season between the Celtics and the teams Dallas just faced in the Playoffs. Celtics vs LA Clippers 1-1 // Celtics vs OKC Thunder 1-1 // Celtics vs Minnesota 1-1 So the Celtics are 0.500 against 3 of the top 4 teams in the West. (Celtics vs Denver 0-2, so 0.375 agains the top 4 teams in the West). Now if you do look at Dallas during the Regular Season against these same teams. Dallas vs LA Clippers 1-3 // Dallas vs OKC Thunder 1-3 // Dallas vs Minnesota 1-3 So Dallas is 0.250 against 3 of the top 4 teams in the West. (Dallas vs Denver 1-2, so 0.285 against the top 4 teams in the West) You can clearly see that the Celtics #1 seed is inflated because of playing in the East. And their record is not great against the top teams in the West. Dallas in the Playoffs against these teams 12-5, so 0.706. Dallas is another animal since the trade. Mavs in 6!

Why are people not giving the Celtics their dues. There is no way mavs are winining the chip with kp back. no body on that team can guard Tatum and brown. Where as the Celtics have the weapons to slow Luka and ky down. Cs in 5 or 6
Why would they? PJ, Jones and Kleber will be doing most of that. Boston hasn’t faced any defenders in the playoffs, yet your wings are averaging 25 each, Tatum at a low percentage.

Against the TWolves, Luka was chilling on defense so much that even the announcers kept mentioning it. Celtics play 5 out offense, so he's not gonna be able to hide and rest in this series.
@@Ben2bwild He was bleeding out of his knees from them getting drained before, during and after the game. So he "rested" on offense in sevreral of the games by playing the passing lanes and switching to avoid having to run around. If that's the entire argument for Boston winning, you guys are fucked.
@@Ben2bwild What you were saying is that he didn't play defense and against the Celtics that won't work. Three problems with that. First, he played really hard the last game without much indication of the knee pain (except his second half scoring dropoff). Second, he has a full week of rest for the knees to get a little better. Third, Boston almost lost 3 times in 4 games to the Pacers, who don't play any defense at all. Boston still missed a ton of open shots and committed barely forced turnovers.

It's seriously unrealistic to think they'll win in 5. The Mavs would have a slightly better chance because they are better on the road and Boston is .500 at home. So the first 2 games are poachable. But you certainly can't expect it. But there's little or no chance of Boston doing it uless KP comes back completely healthy and rust-free, and Boston is all suddenly shooting as well as Brown. They couldn't play elite against the Pacers who don't play defense (and lost their only All-Star) so I wouldn't hold my breath.
