After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ru-vid.comUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

try this: 1. Position & hold must be firm enough to support the weapon. 2. The weapon should point naturally at the target without undue physical effort. 3. Sight picture & sight alignment should be correct. 4. The shot should be released & followed through without disturbance to the position.

That's what we call HAT & Follow through. H for Hold. A for flawless aiming. T for almost mechanical Trigger operation. Trigger operation involves a lot of body parts and functions. Even ur heart and lungs. Just the trigger finger should move, nothing else.

As pointed out here, a consistent trigger SQUEEZE, not PULL is absolutely critical to consistent marksmanship. The rifle shot should actually surprise you, If you anticipate it you will jerk it and your target will look more like you shot it with a SHOTGUN. An error I saw repeatedly with soldiers in my 23 years in the Army is how much finger should actually be on the trigger. No more than the TIP of your finger should touch the trigger, If you wrap your finger around it, you will pull it off tgt

Firstly, the smoothness of the action. This could be done to a factory rifle though. The main thing that makes me believe it is a custom is the nature of the shooter. I would be willing to bet a former Army Ranger Sniper would drop the cash to get his perfect rifle.

Always thought I could shot at any age. After years of eye surgery, and turning sixty two. I found that slight tremor that started in my early forties has progressed to a constant full time shake. Learning to overcome it takes time. Shoot all you can before your eyes and health makes it too difficult. I still love to shoot, every chance I can afford myself the time.
@bravo4104

Might be a stupid question but have you tried propping the front and stock of the gun up on a bag or something like he has? I feel it might help a bit with the shakes

Also, I've heard CBD/cannabis is general can be effective for shakes, if that sounds like it's up your alley lol. CBD is legal in all 50 states and has shown to be effective for some people's tremor's, it also doesn't get you high at all, you can find it in some drinks, food, candy, or they just have it in pill/oil form you can take. It's healthy, no need to worry about any negative side effects

I considered and tried a bag as a replacement for the bipod. What I found was that the dimensions of the bag change with each shot. The bipod does bounce but can be returned to the exact position each shot. I suppose if you had an artificial filler for the bag that wouldn't compress (like cloth) or move around with each recoil, it would probably be the better option (to use the bag).

What to do when you're shooting a high recoil, low weight rifle from the prone? From the bench, my gun practically jumps off the table and smacks me in the face if I don't have my support hand holding onto the front of the stock. Shooting prone with no hold on the stock is liable to give me a black eye.

Sure some will say I'm full of shit but continuous fire machine guns weren't meant for aim shooting but more for point and shoot with having a steadier hand being that not taking as much hold effort away while engaging the sights. Bc without a gnarly good counterweight to reduce as much recoil as possible, it's simply too difficult and nearly impossible to keep the aim on target.

1m24 Sight alignment has nothing to do with a canted scope Your sight can be perfectly aligned to your scope, with no scope shadow or parallax errors at all. But if your reticle, or to be precise, the turrets of your scope are not aligned with gravity, you will have a cant error when you shoot. Keep in mind that - A barrel is round, so there is no relevance to having the reticle of the scope level to the rifle. Cannot level to something round, it's simply not possible Anybody who goes around telling you that you have to rotate your scope in the rings, to level to the gun, does not know what he is talking about. - The only thing that does matter, is that your scope is parallel to the barrel. Which relies on the rail, the scope mount and the action If you rail or you action is not square with the barrel, there is nothing you can do with that gun other then giving it back to the gunsmith. - Leveling the scope reticle, to the action is meaningless if the scope reticle is not true to the internal adjustments of the scope Scope tracking is way more imporant then the reticle. If your tracking is off by 1 degree to the reticle, then to use that scope you will always have to hold that reticle canted 1 degree Which is difficult to repeat..

@SneakyKittyGameDev
@SneakyKittyGameDev 9 лет назад
start out with something that has mild recoil such as a 223 bolt action and work your way up to a 308 which in my opinion is the perfect caliber for a new shooter. dont worry about hitting your eyes with the scope, recoil is not as bad as it seems if you shoulder the rifle properly, i hit myself with the scope three days ago on my 300 winchester magnum but the optic had a soft pad around the eyepeice of the scope and it didnt hurt at all, it was about like a flick on the forhead

@sunchaserw1477 9 лет назад
Thanks and I will take your advice. I did watch some guys on youtube that he was directly hit but the recoil and the scope really made his eye bleed. But you are so rite that properly shoulder the rifle is a key to prevent such injury. Thanks again.
@BoNomadic
@BoNomadic 9 лет назад
What caliber are you going to shoot? And The guy who commented to you is wrong. Don't start with a 223. It's recoil is WAY to small for even a child to notice. I would start with a 243 it has very small kick and can hunt pretty much anything you want to in North America. Then after you get your 243 work your way up the scale till you hit a .308 or 30-06 WARNING .270 .308 and 30-06 all have a hard kick so just hold the scope away from your eye if your that worried or mount your scope more forward on the rifle. Mounting it forward will change the center of mass on your rifle so if your standing don't mount it forward. If your going to be shooting while sitting or prone then feel free to mount it forward.

^ i agree and disagree. 308/270 do not have a hard sharp kick. its like a soft push while the 270 is a little quicker(unless your very very recoil sensitive) you will be fine with any of those three. you can always get a limbsaver recoil pad for 30 bucks from amazon(i just out one on my tikka t3 that weighs 6.5 pounds in 300 win mag and its very pleasent to shoot, about like a 308 in a heavy rifle) as well as look for a scope with a long eye relief. the main thing is you do not want to devlope a flinch when you pull the trigger. for a quality scope for cheap i recommend a vortex pst or viper. i have the viper 6.5-20x44 and it has the pad around the eye peice so if you get hit by the scope its not big deal

Will my groups open up if the rifle is steady on the target when shot goes, but I dont hold the rifle firmly? Seems that lately I find myself trying to keep my cheeck as lightly on the stock as possible to minimize heartbeat interference, but my groups are not as tight as they use to be, now I find myself looking at powder, bullet and primer batches while the problem could just be me?

You shittin me? Cutting a barrel down to almost the legal limit, then adding a suppressor on top of that? Of course that's not precision. And, he specified in the reply he sent to me, after yours, saying he did not specify saying precision rifles, just the fact that they are tricked out with expensive equipment is what I meant he said. I know my fair share around a firearm, fairly insulted about your comment before learning about the facts.

When you take a shot, is it better to shoot from a higher angle downwards? Like is a 30 degree angle better to shoot at than a 15 degree angle? I ask because I read that the steeper the angle, the higher the bullet velocity, therefore wind doesn't have as much as effect on the shot. I'm a total newbie to shooting by the way.

Question: at 3:00 his hand position has his thumb off the top of the stock, laying down the horizontal of the rifle. Is this his prone firing position, a way that he practices trigger control, or just a fluke on his part? Thank you.

Makes a long range shooting video talks about safety but doesn’t wear safety glasses. Don’t give me the rifle is unloaded all guns are loaded basic safety rules…

What i gather from this video is the fact that it's simply a pure miracle that i actually smoked the target on my very first shot with my brand new stock rifle straight from the box.

so how do you compensate for the coriolis effect?? I don't find the need to, I usually shoot over a flat plane that is NOT rotating under my bullet. but gunwerks will say otherwise. sorry, but once you go flat, you don't go back.

bugsywatt the earth spinning is a constant. Look through a telescope and find a star or planet. In less than a second, the object is out of view. Unless, you account for the earth’s rotation. Same thing with long range shooting, however, to a smaller degree.

at 3:00 is very important i tought myself that years ago, hold in the trigger after the shot goes off, good advice. ive seen people slap and jerk at triggers bad. and almost fall off the shooting table when i sneak the round out and see how bad they flinch. good advice!!!

Take your shot at the bottom of your exhale. Follow through with your shot. (Maintain sight picture, don't let the trigger reset till your bullet has hit the target) I set a target up at the end of the hall on the door, or across the yard and lay prone and practice breathing and dry firing. Works perfect my long-range shooting on iron sights (300m and more)

Looks to be a remington 700. Probably similar to a 700P (police) or a 700 5r as far as standard factory rifles go. I'm sure his is a custom rifle costing somewhere above $5k up to $10k.

Do you have any red dots with a 65 moa circle? If you do, can you please test if the bottom of the circle will hit a man size Target at 700 or 800 yards on a 50/200 zero with 556. I don't have that distance to test myself. Thanks!
