Normatico scores a super deal on the Dart Zone PRO MK 1.2 off of BidFTA and puts it through its paces to see if it lives up to the 200 FPS brag it has on the box.

I love my mk1.2, I’m a big dude and rarely have the stock against my shoulder but I did install the thunderbolt stock and love the way it looks. One thing I did was swap the barrel with a worker 250mm barrel and am now averaging 242fps on the bamboo darts and 220 on dart zone ruby darts . Overall I love the looks of the blaster and can’t wait to use it at an event just to see the haters give dirty looks and talk smack about it 😂 . Good video man !

Mind sending me a photo at BlastersRevisited@gmail.com? I'd love to see the way that thing looks with that barrel! Did you have to get an adapter for the muzzle to allow for the longer barrel?

@@SecondHandBlastersI’ll send you pics of it for sure! Yes I had an extra adapter from worker nexus pro barrel kit but I think there are files out there to 3d print one

Besides the aforementioned dart guide issue, the other big physical negative is that stock. The swing point and the Nerf-compatible attachment create a real weak spot that will break over time. I've seen it happen at multiple events now. A "competition-level" springer needs a sturdy stock to withstand the kind of forces it will be subjected to over a hectic game and the MK 1.2 just doesn't have that. Almost everyone replaces it with a Worker stock, but even then the Nerf attachment point is still weaker than a good integrated buffer tube. Unfortunately, that Nerf stock attachment point also creates the issue you ran into which is that spring replacement is a lot harder than it needs to be. The Nexus Pro and Stryker both offer easier access to the spring and a more solid attachment by using an integrated buffer tube. In that way the MK 1.2 is a step back from previous Dart Zone designs that they frustratingly carried forward to the MK4.

I haven't taken the MK 1.2 into actual competiitive play yet, however, I can see where the moving part creates an issue with the stronger spring, especially when you are pulling back against your body to prime. Though when it comes to just fun & games with the downgrade spring, I don't see it being an issue since the prime is effortless. You mention the spring replacement for the Nexus Pro / Stryker and you are too right about the MK 1.2 being an inferior design, especially when you compare it to something comparable like the Trion that has a sturdier stock that integreates near seamlessly into the blaster design and with the "push & twist" plug for the spring. No one wants to bring their screwdrivers with them to an event if they don't have to and the fact that they carried on that design flaw into the MK 4 is... unfortunately. You would think that they would learn from other companies successes and mimic what is loved & eliminate what isn't. I haven't had a chance to get ahold of the MK 4 yet, but it's on my list.

Know of a blaster you think I should review? Leave a comment here and if I have it in my collection, I'll see what I can do!

This is definitely a good blaster especially for the special price it offer from amazon like $40-$60. All the issues mention previously like jam and poor buttstock are easily solve like remove dart guide and get a cheap rigid second hand nerf buttstock. I highly recommend mk 1.2 especially for the price offer now. Harrier are expensive compare to this. While nexus pro X has the low barrel and short dart only which I do not like. With full length dart , I can used many type of adapter and reuse other mag like angle talon, katana.

The 1.2 is still as potent today as it was years ago for sure. Reliable, customizable and way more affordable than a harrier for sure. I love my nexus pro-x but the ability to use full lengths will mean the 1.2 and mk3 will always have a special place in my heart (and wall).

definitely not a bad blaster, but I think there are other options out there that just do it better. Although it is very cool looking and has solid performance, I’ve heard several complaints such as the weakness of the stock, creaky plastic, and jamming, and would prefer to use a Trion or a Seagull to fling foam at a 200 FPS cap game.

So, I've never used the Seagull (I just can't seem to catch a break to afford one... silly adult things getting in the way of my fun all the time). But I agree with you on the Trion. Asides from the catch issue, ultra stock on that blaster is divine for an affordable competition blaster. I'd say that comparing the two is like comparing Mountain Dew with Monster Energy (Shameless product plug).. sure Mountain Dew has caffeine and will help wake you up, but Monster Energy does it better. In this comparison, Gameface is the Monster Energy.

very true. I have gotten to use the Trion before and it’s a lovely blaster but don’t own one, but I did pre-order the Seagull and it was a much needed upgrade over ye olde Nexus, much more comfortable and capable of hitting spicier numbers.

I will have to get ahold of one eventually. As for that Trion, that one ranks as a must buy for anyone who wants to upgrade/downgrade on the fly. It truly is the only blaster you need for day long events with mixed rounds (unless you are doing a Thrift, rival only or kamikaze king round).@@mr.wublin

Do yourself a favor and remove the dart guide. That thing causes all kind of jamming issues. You don’t even need to open the blaster you can get to the screw from the slot for the priming bars. I will say mine did not have issues at first but after a few hundred shots it started giving me issues. The guide has too much downward pressure when you reprime after a shot it will start to pull a dart backwards out of the mag then when you prime forward will jam two darts in the barrel at once. I personally also put a worker mag adapter in mine because it moved the mag about 1/4” closer to the dart gate ensuring a good clean chamber and is lower profile.

Thanks for that advice. I had a worker mod adapter on order from Amazon but it didn't arrive prior to filming. You're right, it does make the jam risk go away significantly.

Do you compete in games

Not in any serious competitions. Just my local club. Unfortunately, disabilities keep me from moving as quickly as other players so i’m usually in a defensive role as a sniper.
