Peter Kay down to a tee. Vic and Bob are about a million percent funnier then Mr Living in the past Kay.

+shellsbignumber2 Well Mr Living in the Past Kay's companies has raked in over £32 million profit in the space of the last few years making him one of the wealthiest stand up comedians in the country. Maybe this is why Reeves and Mortimer took the piss out of him as he may have a routine of remembering the past, but it is a routine which brings in the cash, which Reeves and Mortimer are a little bit jealous of?

+John King The fact that you judge comedy in monetary terms is really a comment on you, not Vic & Bob or anyone else.

+John King I think the point of the joke is that Peter Kay has one simple routine which he has repeated for the past ten years , sure people love it but it's the same thing over & over , the fact that something is popular doesn't make it good , just look at the music charts or TV ratings , Brits love a bit of simple trash
@johnking5174
@johnking5174 9 лет назад
OK, no problem, yeah you are right his routine has become slightly stale, I give you that. But people love it, and he must feel I stick with what people like.

Just to update you, after a year I now totally despise Peter Kay. Arrogant ass hole, especially when I have seen him on interviews and at awards. A year has changed my view of him.

Bob recalls seeing Peter Kay in the early days and thinking he was a brilliant new comedy star…by this point looks like he changed his mind and realised that yes this is all Peter Kay does-great sketch 😂 peter kay is literally like that on stage it’s tiresome, yet people lap it up in their millions…depressing that so many people are satisfied by that kind of thing as “comedy”-Michael McIntyre is huge and Al he does is basic observational crap and again millions lap it up..jeeeezuszzz - that’s why it’s so great that people like Vic n Bob have had the success they’ve had-proof that there’s still enough people in the British public who actually like truly inventive and original and weird comedy over the base observational bullshit

Vic and Bob are talentless twats, nowt original or inventive about them at all.

I heard a show on Radio 4 some years ago where 3 generations of comics battled it out for audience appreciation. (I bet someone got a promotion for that). Dougie Brown represented the old pre 1980s comedians and told what became one of my favourite jokes ever. Very clever and nothing offensive. Massive laugh Then the alternative comic from the 80s did something that I seemed to forget while he was still performing it. Finally, a modern one came on, said "Timers on toasters? What's that all about?" And a section of the audience had hysterics over it. Just one of the reasons Radio 4 has made me swear by my radio.

I agree with the easy way out in his stand up. The masses love it because they are thick, however Kay is a funny man. Phoenix Nights is absolutely brilliant.

I would rather watch him than the monopoly that are on every channel in the panel shows that are scripted and unfunny.
