And ending up perilously close to his "smooth criminals" on a Sir Edmond Hillary style climb to the top. (Yeah. I've had cats before. Lots of cats. Some starting at the "just add water" stage.)

Totally incorrect! That device is a carbonator. It uses the raw ingredients of fuel and air to create H2O, and, you guessed it, CO2. By adding CO2 to the air, it is, as the name states, a carbonator. Duh!!

There’s one critical thing you have to know when using Noga holders. Never, never place the so that... Oooo kittens!

I take a less precise approach to measuring windscreen wiper runout. Roll down the workshop shutter enough to spot weld the wipers to it (a good solid mounting point). Turn the wipers on and measure the suspension sag, side to side and back to front. This can tell you, to a reasonable level of accuracy, that you've wasted another afternoon procrastinating.

Maybe make it with a spring between the screw part and the knurled wheel. That is how a fixed carburettor on a nitro RC engine can be adjusted... The spring will allow you to turn the screw but will bend under side load, keeping screw and carburettor in one piece.

Noga is a true IKEA name for that indicator holder as it means ”Carefully” ”Accurate” or ”Precise” in the ”Important” way.

Howdy Tony - the kittens were a nice touch :) Seeing this Noga Indicator Stand convinced me to write something I've though of for a while to replace your camera tripod, give you more room to maneuver and provide more "Action Shots" for close ups and shitty angles. Check out this link to Underwater Camera Equipment - www.digitaldiver.com.au/shop/browse/categories/underwater-strobe-light-arms/idive-arms You could easily turn up your own ball ends and machine 2, 3, 4 (or as many as you want) hole "Ball Join Connector Clamps". I've made many of these for myself before, you just have to make sure the "Holes" in the clamps have a chamfer the same radius as the Balls. And they can be any size you want - depending on the load they will hold and the size of your drill bits. (ahhh - you even have a die punch) You can make the arms out of tubing instead of the fancy webbed arms that are on the web site. Or, you could make them as fancy as you want (spiraling helix would be spiffy). With these you can have a base bolted to your ceiling, on your wall or clamped to your machinery (vibration might be an issue though) to manipulate your camera around your machinery, and Hey Presto - no more tripod issues. With several arms (in multi holed clamps), you could attach your phone, your cup of tea & cookies, a tray for scribes, sharpies, your glasses when you get older and start to go blind etc. It'd be a fun build to make a video of and I promise, with several ball joints on one arm you can bend it up, down, left, right and spin it all around to your hearts content.
