Amazing details I’ve never seen any other channels talk about. You guys should make a video on attacking the triangle when driving wide and cutting into the middle. I remember first seeing it with Marchands playoff goal against the islanders a couple years ago. Also remember filip forsberg doing this move a couple times
I think we’ll definitely see more five hole shots as goalies are more worried about top corner shots. But I think goalies will maybe go into a lower stance facing the shooter this season as the five hole is a really good shot
On the pseudo-VH: I'm not a professional, and I don't know or claim to know what's going through their heads, but I have never encountered a situation in my own game where this appears accidentally. Idk why the NHL goalies all do it
I don't think this happens by accident rather players do things that trigger a goalie into that position. Whether its by a fake or a route towards the net you can trigger the pseudo-VH position (lefties a bit easier than righties)
@@AlongTheIceHockey what I'm saying is that, as a goalie, I have never been faked into this position because the VH position while not attached to a post is not even in my positional vocabulary (if I'm rapidly changing directions and the puck is in tight, paddle is always down to cover five hole for that split second). It's odd to me how some NHLers, Marc-André Fleury especially, are so prone to it
