I'm one of the subscribers that came from James' shout out and I'm really enjoying your content, brother! Funny I don't dig CNC projects not because of the CNC itself, but since I can't have one due to my lack of space in the garage I have no direct application to such content but while I was thinking about it watching the video you said "hey! that's a CNC project" and came with the alternative. LOL. And I absolutey loved the idea of the tapered box! Keep the good work, brother! Take care and keep safe!
Brilliant idea and easily portable, like the colour coding, keep up the good work, I'm new to this channel looking forward to more vids, take care. One other thing, as I only have a 14x14 shop , you are really selling me the French Cleat idea, cheers.
On a storage rack I made from plywood some time ago, I labeled the positions of the different adapters it held. I DID use the P-touch labels, haha! On wood, in a shop setting. Which sounds like a travesty. But I painted the wood (black) first, then applied the (black) labels to the dried paint. Then I did several coats of a polyester clear coat. The result was that you almost can't tell the labels aren't text printed directly onto the rack. And oil and fuel and other automotive fluids have yet to harm the finish. It's been maybe two years.
They make engraving bits for CNC machines that open the door for some pretty cool options. Maybe a little bit overkill for this but just an idea. Great stuff!!
I always find a brad point bit really makes you re think your life choices...... thankfully I've never hit myself in the face with one but one day it might happen 🤔 On that day, this will be me 😭. Thanks for another great video 👍👍👍
Hey Chris… I have to admit I was a casual watcher of your channel and I definitely was keeping up with your channel as much as I could have… some how I missed that video that James from Stumpy Nubs recommended… I commented on that and subscribed as well. Like I said in my other comment… you really put life into perspective for me and I can’t help but admire your attitude towards life. You have a lifetime supporter from NYC now and I wish you, your wonderful family and your channels all the luck and best wishes in the world! Keep your head up brother and keep up the great vids! Just subscribed to this channel as well! Can’t wait to catch up on these videos! 🤘🏼
Hey Chris, when I heard James mention your channel I was really excited for you! I tried to e-mail you right after I left a comment on his video and it was undeliverable. Happy for you brother! :)
thanks Lawrence I appreciate that buddy yeah sometimes the comment section can be a bit finicky. However thanks for reaching out here buddy I really appreciate it again
I love how your using the cnc more. They are changing the industry. Reach out to ortur laser or even atomstack laser, see if they will send you one to review. You have a large enough audience for it. I’m wanting to save and get one for both me and my wife to work with
Chris, thanks for the idea, as soon as plywood’s prices drop I plan to build drawers for my new bench and I was looking for something to get rid of the 5 or 6 sets of ratchets living in plastic cases and put everything in one useful place, I love the French cleats idea better than all sockets sitting in a drawer, maybe I’ll do a hybrid like putting a couple of French cleat bars inside a drawer frame to maximise length use and stay dust free but being able to move it around my tiny shop as well, sorry about the too long comment :)
Oh my goodness France cleats inside of a drawer. That’s amazing I’m gonna steal that idea LOL just kidding I’ll give you credit if I use it. Don’t worry about the long comment. It’s always nice to hear what people are thinking. Take care
And as for the labeling, Brad Rodriguez from fixthisbuildthat tested 5 ways to transfer images on wood, I guess if you mirror print all the info for each socket or special bit at scale you could then put some varnish on it to secure it, if you want I can put the link in here
Hey Chris, I think I was about as stocked as you were when I heard the shout out on Stumpy's video. The socket holder is a pretty great idea. Coming from a automotive background, I have way too many to try that with though. 😆
Saw Stumpy Nubs video and caught the referral. Gave me a big smile when I heard it. Great idea for the socket holder but it would have been nice to see you do that without a CNC machine.
The CNC is truly a game changer. Sometimes I have to pinch myself knowing I have one now. I actually found a picture of my garage when I first moved into this house in 2015. I had a chopsaw a rigid contractors tablesaw and that was about it. Makes me really appreciate My shop today
Did you watch till the end?. I talked about how you could and I gave an alternative for the same exact storage solution that I had made years ago that works really similarly
@@acloserglimpse9895 yes I made the comment before the end. but if you wanted to look close to what you did with the CNC. could you get set an alarm results using Forstner bits? I absolutely love both of your platforms. I am a beginner to intermediate far is my scale and I have a small wood shop. Big fan of the French cleat which is how I initially found you on RU-vid. Sometimes I like your ideas well most of time I like your ideas but sometimes I can’t execute it because I just don’t have the space for the tool. or bottom line I just don’t have the tool that you used. Anyway I really like your youtube channels. You really come across very genuine and I love that you show interaction with your family I’ve got kids about your age as well keep doing what you’re doing.
@@acloserglimpse9895 I’m totally onboard with Dad jokes, sarcasm, and general b#%l busting. I’m ashamed your joke went right over my head. Keep on making them and I will not judge you again. I will continue to watch your channel.
