Just got off the phone with Power by the hour and they converted me to VMP instead of Whipple or Roush, so I'm going with you. Question, becuase I installing my fuel system this week. I have a Phantom 340 Stealth, single pump, will your booster work with this system, or do I need to get a dual pump system?
@@goodnoughperformance I have a 2011 tvs swapped gt500 with cams long tubes stock everything else. Wondering if I should get this and should I do a new fuel system?
Hey there! We do offer a universal wire-in version of our fuel pump voltage booster and that would be what you need for your '00 Mustang. It can be found at this link: www.vmpperformance.com/VMP-Fuel-Pump-Voltage-Booster-40amp-wire-in-for-Mustang-Cobra-GT-F150
The biggest issue is key-on when the system primes, it pulls a ton of current and can pop a fuse. Our unit also has a soft-start to help with that. We could probably get away with a 25a fuse, but its better to be safe than stranded. Once the car is running the variable speed logic modulates the pumps to only produce what is needed, and when you do need everything, its only for short bursts at high RPM wide open throttle.
VMPPerformance just received the booster for my 2012 GT500 ..... does this require a tune after install??? Direction said something about cutting wire ( white ) # 1 ? Thought it was plug and play
