This system has become so valuable , making field and shop work efficient Making the mobile shop a great value. Think plans would be great. Thanks for all the time and work it takes to make it happen.
Please promise me you'll make a video in the future showing your cabinet making workflow in a remodel. Would love to see how efficient cabinets could be made on the job site.
@Ron Paulk, if you're listening, this would be GREAT. I would love to see an action workflow/process for building cabinets using your benches. I think this would be a big seller.
Looking good Ron, keep the videos coming. Your benches keep improving and improving. I purchased the 3 x 6 bench from fast cap and assembled myself about 3 years ago and just love it. I do like the additions you are making. All the best. Al, Remodeling Contractor in Maryland
Ron, thank you, you have done so much to help all of us that just don’t have the time to tweak all these details. Love your thinking on all of it, sure wish I lived close enough to benefit from the “wood bin out front”
I suspect it would work just fine, but I'd love to see a video where you pull the miter saw and tracks off of the PSS then set up the smart cross cut right over the gap left behind. If that really does work and I can see that making that transition is feasible, then I can get away with using just the PSS in my shop. And that is about all I have room for.
That is next level for the bench. Plans for purchase would be great. But so would a video of how it was made. Because there are different sizes to saws, it would have to be custom made by the individual subscribers.
I don't need plans, but every time i build a new something of yours, i buy some more plans, just to support you. I'm really loving how this is coming along.
Big fan here, Ron. Thanks for the update. If you're getting distracted with plans, you could hire them out. Also, was wondering about your fitness regimen, diet and training.
Ron, you have created an erector set for wood workers. I would not be surprised if some company like Festool, woodpeckers, or some other company tried to hire you to be a product developer.
That's a great attachment! I'm coming around to the "96mm" system. I commented on another video about using 4" spacing and 3/4" holes. Then I watched another video where you talked about how you had done that years ago. It figures you've tried everything. Haha! The smart system is amazing. And, I would be interested in the plans for the table saw attachment.
I don’t know that I would need plans but if you could make a video demonstrating your technique for routing the inner angles on the side pieces that would be helpful.
Ron in your spare time, I would like to see you do a hang on/upside down cradle system for the miter saw as well as the miter saw extensions. That would make the bench so much easier to build. That would be good a system for us that have more than one miter saw, easy to swap out saws.
Nah, A video of the cradle construction would be enough. Frankly, any of your bench/trailer plans have all the needed construction methodology. Especially if combined with a little time using the Parf Jig. This is an ‘add-on’ accessory that may be adjusted to different saw benches. Once anyone has completed building your bench, they should be well in tune with your design concepts and easily complete this cradle.
Enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing your process. I use a lot of Dewalt power tools and have been considering the cordless table saw. For some reason I find the term and text “VLOG” unappealing. Maybe it’s overused or doesn’t explain itself. Perhaps a more descriptive title would be more catchy: “Ron’s Recent Shop Activities” or “Latest Musings about Ron’s Work Bench”. It’s like when someone uses the acronym “ISO” instead of just using the word “seeking”. Creative writing, I suppose.
Hi Paulk, your videos are amazing. I'm from Brasil and I would like to buy a plan from your list, but I couldn't find the way to create a new account in your The Paulk Homes Store and place the order. Thank's.
96mm is a multiple of 32mm. It was the closest drill spacing availably at the end of WW2 for the rebuilding of factories and cities. It has been industrial standard since then.
@@TheSmartWoodshop thanks for that. It just made me wonder what the benefit of having all the hole exactly space at a weird measurement would be? Note- I work with the metric system and will be drilling out my dog holes this week.
@@hamishgoodley7208 Note: all cabinet hardware, hinges, drawer glides, etc. are set up for 5mm holes space 32mm apart. The industry refers to it as the 32mm system. To use anything else will add lots of pain.
32mm has been the industry standard since WWII. All cabinetry and hardware are based on 32mm. Shelf pin spacing is 32mm. If I go with anything else then my bench would not match up to industry norms. Notice the diamond on many metric tapes, it indicates 32mm.
@@TheSmartWoodshop I met in the video. Will get the plan for the big table and cart first. To get into your world, accessories (special rule and drill, track saw, etc) adds up. I will finalize budget after getting plans.
