Need to have a pickup installed on your banjo? The SMP+ Sliding Magnetic Pickup is the easiest pickup solution. No soldering, no complicated adjustments.
Tools needed:
3mm hex key (included with SMP+)

That's cool, it doesn't sound like an Electric Guitar, it sounds more like an Amplified Banjo just what a Banjoist wants.

Groovy, but it is an "output" jack for future reference. Same on all instruments. The signal comes OUT of the instrument into your sound system or amp or the INPUT of your processor, preamp etc. and will always go to the INPUT jack of all of them. SOOOOO an OUTPUT always goes to an INPUT. Cheers.

I just ordered one for my wife’s open-back banjo, but I have one question: Is the output jack a 1/4”? Just wanting to plan ahead in case adapters are needed. Thanks!

I just installed one of these on my ob250 5 string resonator and it is not really picking up at all. I can only hear the 4th string and I have to really crank the amp up. Any ideas why?

I have two cc100r banjos, and my SMP doesn't fit on either of them. The piece with the threaded holes absolutely does not fit where it's supposed to. There is physically not enough space for it.

You would need a Special Version of that pickup made for Nylon strings

@@GoldTone My old GT-1200 12-string banjitar has an "SMP pickup" but it has a different mounting system than is shown here. In fact, the Gold Tone-installed pickup actually pushes hard against the head, and cannot be backed off at all. I.e., no "up-down" adjustment allowed! I take it that my GT-1200 has an older SMP pickup than is shown in this video. I'm going to have to make my own bracket so that I can adjust the pickup up-down to relieve the pressure that the pickup applies to the entire head!
