We have a portable plasma cutter, and regular AC/DC Lincoln sticks, with a Tig wand and a gas tanks with regulators. DC because we do marine work, so stainless steel, is a biggie. Sad that you don't do hydraulic hoses, people need to get their heavy equipment, machines, even forklifts, immediately. The alternative is wait a month on backorder, for OEM parts. I went through four hundred feet of hose and drawer fulls of connections. Every drill press, could use a Square D, reverse switch.
A messy shop is a well used shop. we don't need chips and oil all over the floor but, multiple projects is the way it goes. Multiple staff multiple messes.
It is all about the market you can get work from, and what machine can be purchased for good prices, try to avoid long shipping distances, it adds a lot to the costs.
I was not born here, it is not about any group of people other than simply those that live here, less than 1% of the land is owned by individual persons. The State, Feds... will let someone purchase land for very high prices, It should be Free. I am not concerned about myself getting ground, rather my concern is for other Alaskans, I own several acres already.
