Love your videos. I am a tech here in Australia, Just did a rebore and bushings on a John Deere. The grease nipple had never seen grease still had green paint over the end of it. Gotta love those farmers.🙃
@@THEIRONWORKER Grease must be getting expensive!! It always amazes me how many of these I do that still have the paint over the grease fittings from when they left the factory.
Would love to see more in the video of how you set up one of those HBM jobs. I find the setup more complicated and interesting than the running of the machine. How do you find proper alignment for a hole that is out of round, etc.
Wonderfully versatile machines, which sadly, I think are going to be consigned to the oblivion of history in a couple of generations.....I hope not. Anyhow, thanks for the video(s), which may persuade someone to take one on and keep it running, hopefully productively.
Not boring at all. That HBM is a thing of beauty. Recognizing the work done to the internal surfaces and ways is also awesome. Some of your best work; but it also takes much work to get here. Looking productive there sir- glad to see you busy. * (Selfish reasons included ha ha) Is the giant Lathe now setting in the space from your shop expansion a few years back? Just really cool stuff.
Oh well I took out a 20' metal rake , and put it outside for now to be moved to a different building . That is where the big lathe went The HBM is in the new addition Thanks
As a matter of curiosity how do you lift / lower those really heavy components on and off your machines safely? Did I briefly see a hook and chain link from a chainfall in a clip?
Could you please take a picture of it. I have a southbend lathe, but I don't have the thread charts. It's highly appreciated if you do take a picture. Thanks.
At the begining of 19's and for the very first part of the 20's century Belgium was leading the industrialisation. The railway industry is the main exemple as Belgium created some of the first railway lines in China but was also exporting steam locomotives all around the world. After the first WW, all this industry started to slowly decline.
I'd be really interested in watching a video of how you align such complex pieces, I keep trying to figure out what datums you would use but I come up short. Great video!
