How cool that you got to pet a long haired Dachshund! They are my very favorite & over the years I've had the privilege of being owned by 7 of them. Otis sounds precious 🐾❤️
I really liked the lock and the peanut bag. But I loved that pattern on the material. It was just adorable. I love you. Stay safe and well. ❤️😘💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✌️
I noticed a silhouette of a standing man in a black oval frame. I think people would like to buy those from you at the right price. I love to watch you picking through flea market boxes! Thanks!
Oh, i love Mr. Peanut, the adorable Pennsylvania Dutch cards. I would totally make whatever recipes were included. But i think my most favorite was the mushroom/ fairy fabric. Charming and whimsical. ❤🍄🧚♀️❤
Some great finds on this sunny flea market day ! 🌄Nothing wrong being a little bit more selective with purchases. Great haul on these two Bethlehem items, the tag and the book as well. I remember that besides U.S. Steel Bethlehem Steel was the biggest steel company in the States issuing tons of loans and shares. So it might be time for me to find some Bethlehem Steel memorabilia, if you are interested. 🤔Also good to see that you feel free now for some filming during your sales activities on this market. 👍Keep up your excellent job, and have a fantastic rest of this sunny Thursday ! Greets from GER, U.
We shall see if there are any requests not to film people at this market, like the other one. People loved the new stuff from my recent storage unit. Sold almost all of the baby/children items and a good amount of clothes too. So while no antiques or vintage in the unit, all items that people enjoy getting for a good price. Bethlehem Steel… what a place that was & now it’s a casino. I come across a few things about it, mostly at auctions, in which the prices are usually high. Things like banners & tools (which is beyond my knowledge). I don’t find too many employee-related items, so glad to find the little tag for $1. Felt like summer out there today, back to the 60s tomorrow, & then rain on the way. Which is fine because I have to catch up on my Berlin letters editing & other research! Hope that you have a great upcoming weekend!
No blurring? I got a laugh out of the book, "How to Be Happy Though Married." When I got married, my FIL gave me a book called "What We Know About Women." All bank pages. I think the book was from the '60s. The Postal Lock is cool, though I'm trying to think what it would be used for? Mail bags? I bet a locksmith could make a key. Train locks are illegal because? They're stolen? The key might fit a lock in use? I'll look these up. The area history publication - you're right - and essential for local research. I found out that an ancestor fought in the Franco-Prussian War from one of those in a town where my Dad grew up - was from the 1920s. The Paste w/o Paste was cool too. I thought they would be magnetic; now I need to look them up too. So much research you have given me! Keeps me sane. Great video and hope you have a fab Thursday with stellar weather! I sold those couple of things I listed. I am not a hoarder ("My Mother had me tested." - Big Bang Theory ...).
I know that railroad switch keys & locks are prohibited. I’ve heard a few good stories from Tony about them. Apparently they cannot be sold for security reasons, as they could compromise transportation security. (One of the several reasons that I read). Congrats on the sales! Always nice when you list & then it has a buyer not too shortly after, lets you know you still have the eye for finding “treasures”! A book about women with blank pages…haha. Men surely must know something about us to put up with us! Today was a rather busy day, a sale & an auction, so I’m just finishing up video editing now. A late night, but that’s okay. I can sleep in a little tomorrow before off to the next sale! Hope that you have a great weekend!
My mom picked up the shirt for me, a good pick! I recently saw the new Barbie movie & it was better than I expected it to be. Can’t go wrong with Mr. Peanut! 🙂
Hi Renee. I was watching some of the papers and wondered, why you didn't take some News 📰 clippings of JFK? I love the bag and the fabrics. God Bless you Renee. HUGS 🤗 my friend. Mari'a. 🤗🤗❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍📰📰😎😎😎👋👋👋🌼🌺🌸
JFK memorabilia is very common, so I usually do not pick it up. I’m sure there are “rare” pieces out there, so I’ll have to do a little research to see to make sure if I see it that I know what it is 🙂
Ms Moose, that Postal lock is called a Rotary Lock and is used on pouches containing registered mail. The reds within the pouch are listed on a bill containing a control # which is the # in the window of the lock which is brass - to my knowledge it is still used today but I’ve been retired from the USPS for a while. Registered mail is shipped point to point and accounted for between dispatch points.
Thanks, I was just wondering? Because that's what I usually do, as well. Just never know what's out there, covered up, at the bottom of boxes, waiting for you to find! 😁
Ok you caught my attention with your last market video so I’m going to subscribe and start trolling through your videos and living vicariously through you especially when you are able to find amazing paper stuff that can be used in journaling and art. Regards from Down Under Rosemaree
Years ago I lost a tote with a bunch of pictures and photo albums from my teen years and I had this one pic that I am so sad that I lost. I grew up in Ocean City and back in the late 80's this one place on the boardwalk paid me $10 an hour (which was A LOT of money back then and for a 14 year old)to wear a Spuds McKenzie costume and just take pictures with people and wave etc. Well one night the person who dressed up as Mr. Peanut for the one candy store Fralinger's was walking around handing out flyers and my friend took a picture of me (Spuds McKenzie) and Mr. Peanut lol! I am so sad I lost that pic! Sorry for the long story I just thought you would get a kick out of that 😉
I would have bought all those crates and bottles. In fact my friend paid up for a very common 7 UP bottle. It was 2 or $3. That's Oregon for you. My sister and I are bicentennial era and I still have my 1776 high chair.
We have rain in our future...guess what day...SATURDAY!! I see the searching hand...will it find a favorite creature of mine?? I spied a few items I would have picked up. Out here, all the flea markets are not creating an itch to go...as they have been exterminated!
@@PaperandMoose Nope...always things to do around the house. Besides, the frogs keep me company! I bet those vintage photo albums are an adventure to thumb through! I have a few old photos of my parent's back round. You have got me inspired to look through them!
Looks like a pretty good flea market today, that little sheath knife about A 1/3 way in could have been something, called a trout and bird knife. Probably made by Kabar. Pretty easy to be worth over $50 I’ve had a few of those postal locks, pretty cool but usually only worth $20 or so. I think I am going to pass in my Friday flea market tomorrow and be responsible and stay home and sell stuff. I have so much to sell!
An egg slicer. Of all things. Made of plastic. Does anyone buy a plastic egg slicer at a flea market? Is there an egg slicer collector market out there? Btw, nice hair.
Just a question, Renee. Do you ever go back through the swapmeets a second time on the same day? A little slower, just to see what you may have missed?? Just saying 🙂 Thanks
