Retirement and COVID changed my shopping habits. I don't window shop anymore when I'm bored. I go to the local mall to walk instead of shopping.

I enjoyed shopping with you!! I never shop anymore. I used to love to shop...no more! Although I loved looking with you, I saw nothing that I couldn't live without. I HATE today's Halloween decorations! They are just so grueling. And WHAT is with all the skeletons these days! Yep, our tastes changes as we age. Thanks for taking us along!!

Sophia, I enjoyed looking at all the fabric in JoAnne’s. It reminds me of how I used to go shopping with my mum for fabrics to big department stores in London. The only difference between you and my mum is she definitely wouldn’t have left without purchasing several, probably in reality more than several, rolls of fabric, because she wouldn’t have been able to resists. 😆 I liked the grey bathroom rugs. That big pottery vase in Goodwill was lovely, such a shame it has those noticeable chips in the base and rim.

When I was in my 30s and 40s I spent so much money I didn’t have in home goods now that I’m in my 60s and have the money I could care less about any of it 😂

Enjoyed this video. I too have kind of lost my shopping thing. Used to go shopping and lunch weekly with my girlfriends for decades. Don’t do that anymore. I usually shop online now. I love Home Goods and we are getting a new one right close to my home. Looking forward to your doing a shopping trip around the holidays.

I only get to watch "shop with me" videos now so I love videos like this! I can't really risk going anywhere because I've been in cancer treatments since 2019 and there are just too many people walking around sick, especially with Covid that I can't risk going anywhere. Groceries delivered even, can't go to the stores at all. I get pretty stir crazy sometimes, and I admit there are times that I wonder if fighting so hard to stay alive is worth a life like this....but I have kids and grandkids that I want to see grown and graduated, even if it is just on video.

Hi Sophia! I loved this video! I look for the same things as you s cost for yarn at Joanne's instead of fabric. I am an avid crocheter. I felt like I was shopping along with you which I absolutely cannot. Having a surgical procedure next week and co-pay is $500 up front. Nope! Love the notepad and the soaps too! Happy Fall!!! Sophia I'm like you I don't like to be around crowds my theory is since covid happened we become more careful about being around people. Not only because of covid we never know if a person with mental health issues will strike out and have a altercation. I limit my self to be out of the house and around crowds

When you mentioned about wanting to learn how to sew collars, I thought I should tell you about a YT channel called " Tailor Nour" who shows many many examples of different collars and necklines, as well as other things. Well worth a look in my opinion.xx

What did you call not store shopping anymore? I ask because I’m the same way. 😂my DIL said you miss out on seeing the new stuff but to me it’s just more stuff. If it’s really amazing then I’ll find out by her or seeing someone else talk about it 😂I can’t handle so many people everywhere. If I absolutely have to go into a store I try to do it early in the morning early like dropping off grandson at school and then running in. But they’ve moved everything in my local store so it’s a nightmare going in. The last time I went in the store I made the mistake going in around 10am and I had a full on panic attack had to turn around and leave . 😂

JoAnn's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this past March 18 in an effort to reorganize its finances. Its intent is to remain open. I have not shopped at a JoAnns in several years. The nearest store to me requires a 45 minute - one way - on the interstate. I buy my fabric on line. Patterns now days are a joke. If I want a "new" pattern, I buy a vintage pattern - not a reissued pattern but the original pattern when it first appeared for sale during the 60s, 70s, etc. I am aware that a reissued pattern is NOT identical to the original pattern and neither is the included sewing instructions. If your existing pattern does not have a pattern piece for a collar, you can "create" a collar by adapting the neck interfacing pattern piece.
