Love the photo of Rachel's dog with paw over the face in "No, it's not time to get up yet" yoga pose. So glad you got to see Rosebud, Mini-milk and Mary in their new comfy home. Always fun to see the windows in Lerwick full of gorgeous Fair Isle sweaters .... oh to have a Jamieson shop right there in town. The incredible lacework on sails is incredible and the seals on Bressay a lovely memory. and poor little Ruffalo with her eye! Very grateful to know Rachel will keep her safe and happy, as will her many woolly friends. Farewell to Graidi, your wonderful presence and smile will surely be missed by all.

It's a great incentive to get me to actually finish something, lol. I'm loving Maggie's mosaic vest, and especially love her handspun. Thank you for making sure we got to see Rachel from Fair Isle. Graidi, best wishes! I watched the U S Sheepdog finals this last weekend where lovely border collies herded sheep through "gates" and separated a few from a larger group then put some into a pen, wondering what quality wool those western sheep wore as they moved away from lovely, gifted dogs who originated in Scotland and who live to move "woolies" around. I knitted as sheep, dogs, and handlers worked on my computer screen. Watching your podcast shows the end of the work for some of those dogs and handlers in "real" life, not in a trial, but what a trial is supposed to replicate in competition. I wish I had the skill so many of the women (and men) I see knitting the patterns and projects from your shop have. I am grateful for all the help you give. My border collies are grateful every time a 'woolie' comes within working distance. :)

I love the sheepdogs as well! We had a Border Collie and she was such a lovely dog EXCEPT that Molly felt the need to "herd" our kids when they and the neighbors were playing in the back yard. Most of the time it was fine, but on really rough and tumble days I had to make sure she was inside while they were out. I live in Switzerland now and recently attended a "cow parade" when the cows are brought back down in the valley for the winter (they spend their summers up in the mountains). One of the families also had a small flock of sheep and goats and a couple herding dogs. It was such fun to see them actively working to keep the goats from wandering off the road to "visit" the spectators and look for snacks.

I can't wait to see you at Rhinebeck!!! I wore that Dunrobin walking, hiking, exploring all around NH, VT, and Maine... all week.... and there was not one single pill on the sweater. And I am tough on sweaters!!! I made mine in Studio Donegal and it's perfect!

Loved this episode. You always have such beautiful FOs, WIPs & "ingredients" to lust after. The buntings are impressive. Perhaps if you do something like this again for an event you might include crocheted items. So wonderful to see Rachel's postcard from her visit with family. She looks so relaxed and happy. It was very generous of her to film while she was away. Those almost 100 year old sweaters looked brand new! Good luck to all the KAL participants!

Yaasssss. I finished my fourth Buggiflooer last night and, even though I have a sweater/shawl and socks going, I cast-on another pair of socks today. Thanks for a great shopcast. Happy to hear about Rachel’s visit home. My daughter eagerly awaits locks from Butterscotch’s shearing! ❤️🐑🧶

Good luck Graidi! You were always helpful when I had need. It was nice to see Rachel amongst the trees. I hope the visit with family (and those trees!) helps sustain you for the coming winter. Nice shopcast. I handle the 'antsy' about what to do next by always working many projects, but not all of them knitting. As long as it is something I'm hand making, it's golden!

Thanks.. Friday mornings are always fun with the shop cast. I’m diligently working on my Dunrobin sweater… I’m almost done… halfway through the sleeves.. you have so many lovely yarns.. I just don’t have enough time…but I’ll try to keep up. Happy to see Rachael with her family. That is always precious time together. Sad to hear that Graidi is leaving the thistle.. but happy for her that she will be closer to home. Good luck. My daughter is taking me to rhinebeck.. so I am up for a new adventure. Maybe I’ll see you there! Caitlin your knitting is beautiful…thank you for inspiring us.

That's so kind of you, thank you! I'm afraid there isn't currently a pattern for it - it's one I knit for last Christmas and just used a standard yoked jumper design then found a gnome motif which I adapted to fit the number of rows/stitches in my yoke. If it's any help then Ella Gordon and Kate Davies have some great patterns for yoked jumpers and you could just substitute the motifs 😀🧶💐

Thanks for another fun episode. I loved seeing the highlights of Shetland Wool Week from Rachel’s clip and all the new things in the shop. I need to order the Embroidery for Knits book. I’m knitting up a sweater with yarn from my J & S cone and am loving the fabric and sweater. I know it hard to believe, but this is my first time using J & S and, Maggie, you are right - it’s so lovely!!! There will be more J & S in my future.
