Steven Van go on RU-vid and search the latest product or the product you desire to buy and you will see reviews with 100 views. There are a lot of clowns that buy something and then take a pic of it and returns it
@Who Thru Poo I worked at Best Buy for years the only way you get flagged for this is if you're returning a ridiculous amount of items within a short span of time or over a year. They're not fracking down on people returning a few defective items, dude.
Yes, customers not always right. As an online seller myself, particularly eBay, I do not accept refunds / returns for products that have video proof / evidence ensuring they are in good working condition, especially speakers, and also other electronics. There are many customers who will completely broke their products on purpose, in the hope to get a full refund because they felt that the items purchased doesn't suits their needs, or they had partially damaged it in the first place (e.g abusing a product other than what it is designed for). Very common dirty tricks being played by such dishonest customers. They deserved to be banned for life from visiting any retail stores, shopping malls, and online marketplaces.
@@200odd300 Amazing how many people don't get that. Especially if someone pays through their credit card you take returns for a lot longer than just the 30 days eBay will side with a buyer and force you to take the return you think you don't have to take
I have a co-worker who happens to be a Russian immigrant and he and his wife like to travel to touristic placid in Mexico and Dominican Republic at least 10 times a year. He told me they go electronics and clothing stores to buy stuff for their trip like camcorders, bikinis, shorts, underwear , towels, hats, sunglasses , suitcases, etc, etc but they return the items when back from the trip. He’s very proud of it and even told me how he is able to put back tags on worn underwear . I told him that’s low life to take advantage of return policies but he says he’s not doing anything wrong . He admits in Russia he can never to that but here in the US he just “follows” the rules . People with that mentality should definitely be banned from life if not taken to jail . Imagine buying an underwear that has been worn and may have traces of semen or body fluids there .
80% of the items for sale you can’t even touch or try out before and then they change the price the same week and won’t price adjust but will put you on a list for buying and using their own policy🦥
@@marikiemarie7622 usually at least a year, but continued excess returns may get you banned for life, and it's not just the one store but all stores across the country.
Define return fraud please! Returning items within the return window is not FRAUD ! Especially items unopened or open box items that are in fact defective.
Vegeta DBZA Lol you’d understand if you worked in retail. Lot of people return shit all the time cus they’re either resellers, switch scammers, or trynna pull the old receipt trick on cashiers. Once they develop a pattern in the system, they get cut off regardless if they’re legitimately returning an item. No sane person returns product constantly like that. If you change your mind on an item that much then I feel bad for the other choices you making out in the world lol
@@NeonKue a get the resellers mainly appear on black Friday they return the items that they couldn't sell for a profit what are switch scammers and recipt scammers
Vegeta DBZA Switch scammers will take the new product out of the package then put something else like an old or broken version of it in place to return. Receipt scammers will bring in an old receipt they saved or found then pick out the item in store to do a normal return for cash. The shitty thing is stores and employees don’t find out about it until later on when a new customer opens the fraud package or the inventory count comes up short so now they’re stuck with a loss. That’s why most high risk stores are strict on returns and make sure they get your info with camera recording. Lot of customers at my store got caught and were charged to the full extent with plain clothes officers looking for them in the mall. Fraud to a company ain’t nothing to mess around with.
I'm willing to bet that they went about stopping fraudulent returns the wrong way. They blamed the honest customers instead of looking into whether or not it was an accidental purchase or the item was the wrong one. I used to work at Sears long enough to know that banning a customer over a return isn't the way to do it.
@@conservativedragon no, it does. Returns effect the store’s sales number for the particular day, which in turn impacts the availability of payroll to keep the store staffed up. Habitual return customers are the worst kind of garbage! -sincerely a retail worker
Looks at empty plate that your wife used to use...took her more than a few months to decide she could upgrade to a younger model and have the old one keep paying her....🤑
Around the holidays when you might buy something a month or two in advance because you need to mail it or because it's a big seller that you don't want to risk the stores running out of? Yes, absolutely. But this guy only waited 24 hours to do a return for some sort of computer part or accessory, so this is a moot point, anyways. And computer parts in good condition get returned _all the time_ for perfectly legitimate reasons. It might be incompatible with your OS, you might have picked one up with the wrong connector, it might have a weird software issue or driver conflict that won't work with your system, you might buy a part trying to repair your machine only to find out that the new part didn't solve the problem, etc...
as an Amazon shopper and a seller as well the problem here is that people will buy something now and want to return it 3 months later and leave a bad feedback to the seller. now how is that fare for all the Amazon sellers? sellers are losing lots of money like this. and yes the customer is always right I get that. but buiness wise is not right
Blame Amazon for their "FREE Returns" label next to every item. No wonder Best Buy is closing stores- people come to expect to be able to return things like they can with Amazon Prime and if a store doesn't let them they go elsewhere. And this is yet another reason to have multiple IDs so they cannot track you.
As if it isn't bad enough that some places only give you 14 days to return an item. That is not enough time in some cases to find out if it is defective.
@@macavalli2619 You think so???? Amazon tracks returns long before most other retailers even thought about it. Fact is no store or business has to allow returns at anytime. There is some stores that posts no returns or refunds signs. Allowing returns is/was a curtisy that gets abused. Did you know that the clothing item you returned does not get put back to be sold again? Stores lose billions of dollars every year from returns.
@@tryagain8003 my guy, Amazon doesn't have a "NO REFUNDS POLICY". They literally accept any return. You must be from some remote part of the world that doesn't have Amazon like South Africa. Are you from South Africa?
@@macavalli2619 wrong. Amazon very well do have a return policy. And if they feel you are abusing it, then you will not be able to make any further returns. You might get banned from Amazon as well. Just Google for Amazon refusing returns, also check Reddit for all the complaints about Amazon refusing returns. It's not just in the USA but in the EU as well. Try researching some before making false or misleading statements. Also when Amazon had their customer forums, people was complaining all the time about not being allowed to make any further returns. This was from WSJ,. www.wsj.com/articles/banned-from-amazon-the-shoppers-who-make-too-many-returns-1526981401
@@tryagain8003 just Google Amazon return fraud. There was a single Tampa woman who made 42k Amazon returns and scammed them out of nearly $150k single-handedly You are from South Africa, no?
Doesn’t work with their fraud fraud system. One thing if they ask for ID with no proof of purchase and are asking for cash but if you have proof (online order/store receipt) then literally no reason for them to scan your state ID and put you on a list Tj at violates your rights and the agreement of purchase.
Why do you think that they want to buy the product when they want to return them? Why is this unfair? Our risk analysis is good doing these things. Not only that we honour your return and we lower your used returned item as open-box Or pre-owned and sell it again for less price while you scratch it damage it and we bear the loss! And above all that we give free shipping, free return shipping incurring loss for ourselves. This is true with every retail companies!
Maybe stop returning so much things. If you make a lot of returns either you don’t know what you’re doing or your one of those let me try it kind of people.
Literally still selling the same toaster they have had in store for 10 years...you complain about a guy returning the toaster that will be put back on the self next to the other toasters🤡
This is a lie, the retail equation does share info with other stores. This was in one of the learning lounge at best buys site train employees. The share info with, Target, Walmart, Sams, Sears, Radio Shack, Verizon, ATT and sprint. The share info for when they had issue with cell fraud. When people would come in wanting multipke new lines of what ever ohone was feee with a new activation they might get flagged. They would do the same for multiple "hardware swaps" with multiple imeis on one account.
Haven't bought anything from Best Buy in years. High prices and terrible service killed the experience. Geek Squad is a joke. It's no wonder users are flocking to Amazon. Much better prices and no BS.
Macy's does ask for your license I worked for them and the have an extremely liberal return policy the policy is defined by the item. regular clothing is 180 days. Forgot what electronics and other items are.And folks you can't argue with a Macy's Associate about it,it's stamped on your receipt as well.
They bought into a system to prevent fraud, it needs to label non-fraud as fraud to make it sellable. Don’t have a 90 day return policy then demand ID to scan a item and refund it to the original card(especially when they have a order number and order number sticker on the item). They treat online orders and store orders as fraud. Didn’t ask for Proof of owner of credit card when buying but want ID to credit item back to card👁
Most companies like Best Buy have a clause in the policy that they have the right to refuse returns, even when you have a receipt. There are people who abuse the system, the ones who say “it’s broken” when it’s not.

Everybody mad at best buy. But who the fuck buys something doesn't open it and just doesn't want it after spending money on those items. Dude was lying through his teeth, who does that shit? That's his fault and he shouldn't be returning so many items.
The retail equation is a fucking joke! So are the stores capping return. If it’s a brand new mint condition sealed item their shouldn’t be an issue. If it’s an online purchase & arrives broken that’s not a consumers fault either
Show them what you think by not shopping there. As the consumer you have all the power in your pocket. If a store told me I could not return an item under a similar circumstance I would just never shop there again and tell my friends and family of my story. So in a way, thanks WXYZ for letting us know what a crooked company Best Buy is.

I worked for retail and people tried to return things without a receipt which was not our brand or bought at Good Will and tried to return it. They tried to return 5-20 year old stuff that was not even in our system anymore. They tried to return used and worn items as well. They tried to return stolen items as well. People steal about 10-15% of the stores sales and then try to return or sell the stolen items on ebay, etc. It's a multibillion dollar loss for companies and should be strict. The worse is they bought an item on clearance or with coupons and want the full price as a return.
What about all the interest they make on your money from the time you buy something till you return it. There's not much interest in $100 but when that hundred is added to billions it's quite a sum. Why isn't that considered when returning items?
Best buy resells alot of their rejected items that someone else returned open box items should be cheaper but they redox the an sell at regular price this too Is stealing

people bitching are the same ones who haven't worked a DAY in retail themselves. I've seen the same people returning stuff over and over and trying to get new items without paying. they were worn items. for sephora, people would wear the makeup then try to return it if they decided they wanted something else or to get their money back. where do you think this worn shit goes? would YOU want something worn or used? no. it goes to the trash. if you are following the return policy, you are not going to have this problem. clearly the man in the video wanted to get on the news to be able to return his stuff because he knows he's problematic and couldn't get the company to give a damn. if you are constantly returning over half the items you purchase, you WILL be flagged. think before you make a purchase if you really need what you're purchasing or not.
