I grew up reading pirated books, the reason being original books are too expensive for a lower middle class and middle class Indian. It’s common everywhere in metro cities .
Ray S , very true it’s I do understand it’s not right to steal from authors. But most English books are priced more than 500 rupees which is a lot in India. I’m not supporting counterfeit goods but you must understand the books are priced in US and European standards which is a bomb for us. I’m only mentioning the ground reality accept it or not this the way it works, it’s hard truth. Stop judging please.
Ray S great motivation, will keep in mind. I have to go shop for some pirated books in the flea market now 😂. We will choose what works for us !!! Opinions are always welcome and decision remains with us . PS : if your grand parents had not migrated from Gujarat perhaps even you would have read these pirated copies. I rest my case here 🤘🏼🤝
Those quality of books are mostly printed for student so that they could afford the books for cheep price. In bihar near gandhi maidan there is big book market where you could get original print with 30% discount on them.and the fake ones with 50% discounts on them.
I bought many counterfeit books in India in the 1990's. Loved them. I still have a few of them. Never had a missing page. But the pages a more grey than white. Being copies I am impressed. But maybe that has changed a lot in +20 years.
Yuvraj Poudyal Marrying an Indian woman and taking up Indian citizenship are entirely different things. Chances are, his wife will give up the Indian citizenship for a NZ one. Indian passport is a dud when it comes to traveling.
Say whatever but she sucks I am not a Sikh ( Yes , my surname may sound Sikh ) but she made many mistakes. Indian economy started to decline under her regime
Rakesh Kumar. Say whatever but REBELS came out when Government is partial. As you can see in todays india Mob Lynchning is becoming regular.Nobody is talking about Demonitization,Old weaponry of Defence forces, corruption, floods and list goes on.Priorities are Creating unnecessary news and politicizing sikh history by this cheap media.
Rakesh Kumar May be you should read political history of India in the 1970s before quacking out of your ass. It was Indira Gandhi who backed and fostered Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in 1977 to act against the democratically elected Akali Dal Government. Unfortunately for her, years later Jarnail Singh made his peace with H.S.Longowal and Akali Dal and turned against Indira Gandhi. She created the Khalistan problem and poured gasoline on the fire to distract from her political misdeeds including the fraudulent election in 1971 she won which was voided by the courts and instead of stepping down and resign, she decided to become a despot and declared Emergency which will still remain the darkest hour in the fledgling democracy India had and still has. And she also plotted to kill the opposition leaders and was forced to resign by her own Home minister. Indira Gandhi was a power hungry cunt. And her son Sanjay Gandhi was as bad as Saddam’s sons. An evil bastard. They both met their just end for their evil actions. And the murderers who perpetrated heinous acts on innocent Sikhs after her assassination are still roaming free. They should be hung in the public square to seek anything close to justice for the Sikhs affected by that genocide perpetrated by members of Congress. I don’t really like Modi and he has all the autocratic shades of IG but I am glad that dynasty came to an end. Modi is an autocrat in making and he is not a balanced or level headed guy like Atal Bihari Vajpayee. India should vote him out before he becomes the next Indira Gandhi. Though I left India nearly 30 years ago and no longer a citizen, I think India should elect leaders who will respect the constitution of India and the individual freedoms and rights including freedom of speech and press and India is going backwards in this aspect since Modi came to power. Oh and Indira Gandhi is a cunt. And her death warrant was signed by herself the day she initiated Operation Bluestar. Iron Lady my ass. More like a Tinpot dictator.
Amarthya Chandar She created the Punjab separatists as diversion for her election impropriety in 71 and a decade later, it would come to bite her ass. Well I don’t have to ask any Sikhs about her especially after Operation Bluestar. I was 15 years old and was in high school when one morning the school attendant came by and whispered something to the teacher and next thing she announced was that Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own bodyguards. That was Oct 31, 1984. But I’ve been hearing since July 1984 post Operation Bluestar that her days are numbered and she signed her own death warrant which would prove to be right 3 months later. And those criminals from Congress party who instigated and orchestrated a genocide against Sikhs after her death were never brought to justice. Good riddance to the Gandhi family and the dynastic rule. They belong in the ash heap of Indian history.
Jeffrey ReyzR Must be all that fecal colliform bacteria that adds to the taste. He bought something called BRISLEI water Must be a competitor to BILSERI. Btw, it’s just fucking filtered water. It doesn’t have a secret formula locked up in a vault and any halfwit can make it. Why can’t they just market it under their own brand name as long as they are doing the filtering?
Pirated books are vital to the South Asian students, especially. Most of them can't afford to buy copyrighted books by expensive publishers . Many of the best or most important textbooks for medicine, engineering and computer sciences can run into thousands of rupees if bought legitimately. But the same pirated edition can be bought for one-tenth the price .
You should do a video on telling us things not do in India like: 1. Not interacting with others using left hand 2. Not wearing shoes indoors 3. Don't turn food down from a host
Indira gandhi was a LIONESS in indian politics she did not give a shit About western powers back in the 70s when india was not a powerful nation. She was called "bitc*" by NIXON. Today indian politicians are nothing comoared to her
@@MuhammadIamhardBrucelee i guess you are stupid sikh...democracy was the biggest mistake india made. If india had more authoritarian leaders like INDIRA GANDHI now india would be a superpower. Instead its a big shithole because there are dickheads like you
U you know India better than many Indians. I love when you say u are from Jammu and Kashmir. Love you. Another stressbusting calm beautiful and informative video. Cheers mate.
Yes bro everyone believes Me being Kashmiri have been asked PAN / Aadhar card at many places in South and West India . And outside India they never believe I am Indian . Worst was when I was watching a cricket match in Pune and shopkeeper asks me woow you like cricket 😭
Its not a fake packaged water, rather its a local brand modelling itself on Bisleri. Most of these brands are FSSAI approved and ISI marked(both safety marks related to packaged food and beverages).I know this coz I used to be associated with checking and identifying counterfeit brands of packaged food and beverages.
Theses sales people must be thinking what foolish waste time reading these I would instead work and earn, do sales earn profits. Being a professional I wonder why did I even educate myself. Even Bank are shutting down theses days ha ha ha
Karl saying Mai Hindustani Hun, Kashmir se 😂😂 our man's a whole level Dilli Waala now 😂😂😂😂 knows how and where to fake it. Only the Hindustani part was true, he's more Indian than we are hahahaha
As you got this right, many students and even researchers do buy counterfeit items because of the price tag of originals being prohibitively expensive for someone with little or no income........maybe the publishers and the government should sponsor some more academic books for those who really deserve
My dear kashmir is 110% safe. Every years millions of tourist including foreigner visit Kashmir. Are you still waiting...? You can WhatsApp us 8494010038 Or Mail us at traveljohn50@gmail.com.
Wish there was some great and affordable ebook subscription or more library options in India, so that more people could benefit from books. But till then non academic books are a luxury in India.
I've been buying so many books whenever I visit India, and for so cheap as well. It never crossed my mind that there are such things as counterfeit books. Great video.
These people be like "Tumne hamai 200 saal pehele loota ab ham tumahi lootrehai" Lol 😂😂😂😂 jokes apart great job dude.👍👍👍👍👍 even we local people in mumbai get cheated by such people🤣🤣🤣

I cannot imagine that I'll ever be on a hunt for counterfeit books in the middle of India but I just love to go around with you exploring a regular day in a regular place with regular people
@marlboroheavy I have brought medical books for my college. You will get used original books or duplicate books at the cost of 1/5th to 1/10th of the original cost.
Just wondering, what kind of books were counterfeit in general? Just trying to understand if its just a price thing or are certain books banned. And do you know if they ban certain books from entering the country (for backpackers)? In bhutan for example non-dharma books are illegal (even travel guide books).
@@ankit5122 brother I think you are being a little mistaken cuz you know. How much people comment and they daily so it isn't possible for him to reply to everyone and btw what is with this angrez word you should use hey Karl ya Karl bhai . ❤️🙏
Counterfeit book I promote. Not ideal but inexpensive books help spread literature more. I mean that original book would cost 800. Imagine that will be someone's monthly income.
Sir here u r wrong... U said Indians can't afford books of that 10-11 dollar price is not correct.... From 9th grade to 12th grade....the standard books for Schools are almost 1.5$ but most of Indians buy extra books and refreshers which worth more than 8-9$ per subject book..... Which are more than 3-4 time thicker than the books which are standard for schools in India....
5:59 the boy behind Karl is like- "Zinda pakadna hai bosdiwale Ko" 😂😂 P.S.- this isn't a hate comment. Based on a famous meme and dialogue from Mirzapur
I too had the experience of buying a book with missing pages. Since then I was afraid to buy from these kinds of booksellers but my thirst for more book took me back to such places. But now I check the pages before buying and also purchases race books or books I haven't heard about. Eventhough it doesn't givethe happiness of new books, it is satisfying to leave the shop with 15 books.
Hey Karl, I just binged watched most of your videos about india because I would be going there soon, just a question though, in one of your videos you showed that you had a pepper spray, where did you get it because it's illegal to have one here in NZ. Thanks in advance and thank you for giving informative videos. 😀
Ordered it from Amazon in India. You can probably do the same and ship it to your hotel before you arrive. I don't expect most tourists to be needing it here though... But I guess it's a bit of peace of mind.
Yes, but i will tell you that these counterfit copies do not bother the publishers earnings that much as these are bought by people who mostly are not looking to buy these books ... whenever i have bought a book from here ...i was not actually looking for one ...if i really need to buy a book i do not go to them because in most cases they will not have what i want. I order them from Flipkart and Amazon
