Best way to navigate Home Depot and Lowes is to select the one you’re at find the item online and it will tell you what aisle and bay they’re in. So great. :)

I used to work in a leasing office and we usually gave back the entire if not most of the security deposit back. People were only charged if they left trash or there were large holes. I definitely think some places scam you on that stuff because you shouldn't even have to have your place deep cleaned. The complex should be the ones hiring a cleaning company.

highly recommend grocery shopping with your partner when you move in together! make a shared list that you can both access and update (like when you run out of something, add it to the list!) and talk about meals together. I handle most of the grocery shopping for my little household now, but I trust that my partner can do the same if I’m unable to take care of it that week. We know what one another wants or needs to have around!🥯🍅🍋

Make sure to supplement Squirtles dog food if you plan on home cooking! It’s fine to trial it without supplementation but if you want to long term home cook for him, you should look into supplementation :)

TAKE PICTURES. There would have to be serious serious damage for you to not get your full deposit back. I’m not sure how it works in the US but I’m Canada our damage deposit is the same as a months rent and you’d have to leave the place in really bad shape to not even get a portion of that back.

I've literally never gotten my security deposits back at any of the apartments I've rented even though I clean/fix everything and leave it spotless. TOTAL scam haha! My last place, I ended up following up about it and they didn't even have an explanation of what they were claiming to take out of that deposit amount and they ended up giving me part of the money back.

I got every Security Deposit back from every place I've ever rented. If you damage something, you should fix it. If the dog has damaged the garage door, that'll probably be goodbye to your deposit. The place looks pretty good. Fingers crossed for you.
