Video of shoppers at a BrandsMart USA retail store in Florida. Employees seem to be a bit camera shy here in this one, but the customers seem to be enjoying it. This one last around 4 and 1/2 minutes. #brandsmartusa #brandsmart
I went into a Best Buy in 2009 for a new TV expecting what we see here in this video. After seeing the flatscreens, I asked the salesman where the "other kind" of TVs were. He looked at me for a solid 5 seconds to see if I was joking, and told me they didn't make those anymore. Never felt so out of touch. In 1996 at a Brandsmart in the Ft.Lauderdale, FL area, I bought a new Pioneer CD changer for my home stereo system. This video is a blast from the past for sure!
Back than, people never really threw away TVs after 3 years. Most were kept until the CRTs either died or the TV's were eventually replaced by flat panel TVs. I held on to my crt tv from 2002 to 2019. I got rid of it because things were failing on it. Bright shadowy stripe, speaker, remote sensor, speaker. The shadowy stripe did not bother me much because it was on top and I mostly watched wide-screen movies on it.
Omg I got a hit on my credit when I was 19 because of them. It was purely my negligence…I didn’t realize the impact of what would happen if you didn’t pay on things, and I learned from my parents to just not pay the statement…thinking the albums were free…they are NOT, LOL! BUT, it was more economical than buying six CDs in the store ($33 compared to around $75).
This had to have been shot during a weekday mid morning. I see the Price is Right is on during it's Showcase Showdown round. The time was probably getting close to lunch time since that is in the eastern time zone, so probably close to 12 pm. Or, maybe central, since Florida is in two time zones. That's just my guess. I actually miss the old tube TV days. Trying to find one to fit in your entertainment center or stand was a pain. The depth of some of those TVs were unreal! Nowadays, you don't have to worry about depth anymore. You just gotta find a stand that will accommodate the width to fit LOL!
So true Mark and I miss the sound on those things. Everytime there's music in the background on my flat screens I have to turn in all the way down or cover my ears.
What a beautiful sight. CRT TVs from *AUTHENTIC* [Japanese] brands like MITSUBISHI, JVC, HITACHI, Panasonic and stereo rack systems…*sigh* those were the best times.
I wonder how many of these TV'S are in people's homes in 2023. Some of those old CRT TV'S last forever. My grandpa bought a Curtis Mathis in the 80's, and although the picture quality diminished, it still worked in 2004.
Back then TVs were the center of our life. Now only old people watch tv and even they know that its garbage now. I remember i used to watch christmas movies with my family back then. Good times. We were more connected to each other back then.
had my 32 inch tv but i was wanting the 36 or a big screen projector! had that tv till, 2009? when i bought my first 52 inch flat screen 1080p! man so many choices! 720, the plasmas! this is a great channel sir!
On the outside: building looks the same today. (Thank goodness for that) On the inside: a 1990s Heaven that is long forgotten. (The only CRTs made today are mostly in China, and they're TOO cheap)
@@vampirerobot there is a fantastic clip on YT of a very early restored 1954 RCA color TV search "The Very First NTSC Color TV: 1954 RCA Model CT-100 The Merrill - Restoration Part X (Concluded!)" and skip to 38:50 for the cartoon demo, just jaw dropping, earlier in clip as he explains the set, he shows many scenes from Back to the Future,
One of the stores both my dad and I would go to is BrandsMart. It has been a tradition ever since my parents divorced. It was one of our father-daughter bonding times 📺🔉

I miss the old CRT TVs but I don't miss how heavy they can be from 19 inches and up. I like flat screen and digital Televisions but I hate how they only last 3 to 7 years but with a CRT Television you can have it up to 20 years or until it dies out
Broward County at the sawgrass mills mall this one is in. I remember going there all the time as a kid in the early 2000’s. It changed quite a bit since then. but the general layout is the same. Now they sell massage chairs for some reason
