Being in my mid 30s a lot of things changed in my personality including hating the loud noises and noise pollution! I'm an Arab from Saudi but I wish they didn't use those speakers that repeat what they recorded it's everywhere and gives people a headache being in a market like that close to the normal people of Egypt you want peace and a chance to speak and hearing people etc. I wish the government in there bans the usage of loud speakers in my opinion it does the opposite of what they want which send the people away not toward the seller!
@@tom_aku I envy how you could stay calm and be rational not matter what so I raise my hat for you sir. When you gonna please us by visiting Saudi? we would love to have you in here 🌹

🇬🇧 20:10 A military area in the midst of Cairo's Old City, in close proximity to shopping streets and residential buildings? Strange! In our country, you can easily stroll through the government district and even photograph and film the Reichstag or the Chancellor's Office up close. We also have military zones, but they are not visible, and they don't hinder people in their everyday life or tourists in their desire to film!
You must have never beeen to Egypt before these ppl harass you and are annoying it’s a sad country they have nothing to offer but the pyramids and just to look at 🤣
What you've drink at the end is called Erk Sous (licorice) it's a popular, local beverage in Egypt. There's no alcohol in it though. I hope you've a phenomenal vacation in Egypt!
This place is not a touristic place where you are free to record, these are public areas and streets and I think that that it is not legally allowed in Egypt unless you have a permission, any of the guys at your video has the right to ask you not to record them because you are violating their privacy at their work places! But I can see most of the Egyptians are kind to you and are welcoming you which is showing how peaceful is this ppl
I agree but Tom is smart he knows the difference between people who want him to buy and people who are acting like thugs and telling him not to record even though it's allowed and fine one thing you gotta understand about Egypt that in areas like this the child get raised in most cases to act like a thug by being loud and confronting and only his rules the one that matters! Not all Egyptian people like that but sadly some people mostly young in there try to act as if they own the whole place and they're the chief of the town and have an ego! the guy who hold Tom's arm was saying: "are you a fool!? why are you recording in here? don't come to this side (his side that Tom avoided) recording" then his friend came and took him like sit your as* down and stop acting like you own this shit he knows his friend who was being rude to Tom is acting tough but he's not all that tough and could get in trouble with Tom or the law or with being recorded or with people who might defend Tom. Sadly thug mentality is very common in Egypt's young men and that's thanks to the media, TV shows, songs including rap and inner humble cities culture that you need to be tough and a thug to get stuff done and sorry that Tom had to go through this.
Nice video tom I hope you try to go somewhere less crowded so you can try a lot of Egyptian food, maybe I will be available this week to communicate with you and shoot a video for you ❤️ Egyptians are nice people a little impulsive but good experience for you here
Most of them are friendly, but imagine someone filming you when you are going to work or doing your business or buying clothes without asking their permission, if some one went inside my office where I work and filming me I will surely be offended
Its nice to see a person in the pursuit of (by hiding eye's with dark glasses) the personification of a threat and see a telling effect- cautionary effect on the bystanders. Acting tough and walking tough- is a universal language all men knoweth, needs no language or dialect. A strange phenomenon no doubt- it was the Spartan eat of the sweet potato that emboldened the adversarial other side to size up their threat and make a foray. The cooling off without the glasses was also interesting
I like the simple, quiet presentation of your market tour. Its refreshing not to listen to constant narration that most You Tubers do. I really enjoyed just walking along the streets of Cairo with you. Thank you.
there is something catches my remark is that the sudaneses speak english fluently inspite of they are from the poor or the low class and they are not engaged in the touristic field 'simple citizen' but they got nice education unlike all egyptians on the video exept someones....this proves that sudanese education is brillant than other arabic countries i think. ps:i'm neither egyptian nor sudanese.
Most of Egyptians didn't go to school or they didn't enter high school so they cannot speak English but we have a good education ,go to universities to see intellectuals and the most popular English language educational channel in the world is the Egyptian channel ,the name of channel is zamericanenglish
We cherish you, Tom, the person who wears a red cap and he is a rude man. I became one of your followers because the clips are very entertaining. Greetings to you from Egypt 🇪🇬❤️
There are 2 Egypts. The good Egypt the very few outsiders see and the bad and ugly Egypt that the tourists see and experience. i hope the Egyptian government cleans up around the historical sites, tourist money is important for Egyptian economy.
They don't want to get filmed and that's their privacy and their rights, you should respect that. You are allowed to picture place but not people. This is our culture. Some people are really allergic to camera. So every foreigners must consider that. And that's why all Egyptian film makers don't fall in this trouble because they don't touch people's privacy.
If you want to see clean places go to modern places or touristic places, this place is crowded and is like an open street local market so you can expect rubbish and mess everywhere
when you go to other people's land respect their customs and views. Egypt isn't big on filming because many are following the rulings of islam. also not everyone wants thier face on the internet without their permission. but it's well known filming in Egypt even amongst Egyptians is not common in the public
I don’t know why people still insist on going to Egypt it’s such a shitty place using your camera is such a big deal I don’t know why people actually go there I mean
The language barrier was a problem in that moment if I understood he didn't want to be filmed I wouldn't have film him, but he came to me while I was eating not even filming him, so I guess he was just having a bad day :)
Video Recording people at the streets is violating their privacy, this place is not a touristic place however egyptian ppl are kind and most of them do not mind get recorded
What is wrong with you omigo Take care of yourself. Humility. What are these looks and the way you walk. This is arrogance. Watch out for yourself. There is no arrogance on the Arabs. Put my friend down and smile, for you are a tourist, nothing more.
have you visit korba in cairo , roxy ,meryland , all are in masr elgadida district .. you also can visit masgid azhar and its garden (hadikat el Azhar) mmm , so u can have better overview on cairo widely . when i remember more i'll tell you
The Egyptian regime does not want the world to see the popular neighborhoods and Egyptian streets, so be careful not to come to Egypt next time because you will be prosecuted. Be careful my friend.
TBH you dealing with the situation perfectly the issue is you bring yourself a lot of attention wearing the glasses and walking with the camera on it’s a little bit weird to the community anyway have a good time👍🏼
Some constructive criticism.... What's with the tough-guy look? Why not try to smile a little bit? You can see the locals laughing underneath their breath as you walk by. I don't know, just a thought
i wish you had corrected that man who questioned your being from south africa because you are white. whites have been in south africa since the 1600s. i am black and I would have corrected him.
@@tom_aku I agree it doesnt taste so good but all old people used to drink it . i dont know why haha. but tom as an egyptian i can till u that u survived very well in egypt . and i apologize for that much of disturb there as you know guys we are ruled now by a stupid general and his gang
Wow, proud that u met someone from my people one day, Tom. I hope u come to Sudan. My people will like u and welcome u, and u will not see harassment. But Sudan is not ready now. I was in Egypt two weeks ago. I sat in it for only a month. I would have preferred sitting at home to going out 😂
Hi Tom, I like your Cd reportash because it is very interesting, since I like from you that you are on div watch,! You know what you're talking about their prices, what they buy from You don't give up so easily!
