I'm on staff of an archaeological dig in Galilee and have spent June for the last 10 years in Israel except, of course for the last 2 summers and I really miss being there!! Your videos are a great vicarious substitute!! Wow! Pandemic era Jerusalem looks so empty!!! (We have a dear friend who owns a gift shop and restaurant in the West Bank and even at the best of times he was challenged to make ends mee! I can't imagine how it is now! 😥) Shopping in the suqs is not for the faint of heart! 🤣 It can be fun, frustrating, confusing, interesting, chaotic! You have to filter out/ignore the pestering shopkeepers. The only time of day I felt was easier was late in the afternoon, the crowds are thinner and the shopkeepers are mostly tired of trying to make sales all day...

I so want to come to Israel but with all the restrictions now maybe not am able to? Sad because I so have a heart for Israel, the Hebrews/Jews...I have done my dna and found out I am Jewish also...want to cry...thanking you so very much for posting these vlogs...love to see the stores in the old city. Please keep filming what is available like souvenirs, clothing, cafe's, and more...I am so appreciative of your videos...shalom shalom...:-)
Do you guys have any stores like Walmart or Publix or anything like that or is this all you have flea markets with statues and crystal balls and things carved out of images?
When I visited Jerusalem in September 2019 the souk and all those shops in your film were crowded. It is obvious watching your film that the Corona virus pandemic has had a devastating effect on Israel's tourist industry. So many of the shops in your film were closed, and very few people. As I type this (July 14th) Israel's border is still closed to foreign visitors, until Israel is reopened the shop owners must be very concerned and worried about their futures.
