My Nanna once told me 'it's okay to be an adult, but never be a grown up', and it's stuck with me ever since! It's okay to have responsibilities and take some thing seriously, but never stop growing, learning and keep your sense of fun. Watching this video reminded me of that and I thought it would be nice to share her words in these comments, hopefully it will resonate with someone :)

*Senior Citizen Old Lady Granny here, representing!!* OMG seeing this theme killed it for me. Seriously, manufacturers assume the elderly, like myself, lose all sense of fashion, want super baggy clothes, and styles from decades ago. Ick ick ick. I honestly shop from the Juniors section sometimes. I LOVED your matching bootie shoes to the jacket, what serendipity. I'm amazed at how well you were able to make ensembles from the geriatric pieces. FYI my grandmother's height shrunk so much, we bought her Capri pants instead of hemming everything. Fit perfectly. RIP my grandmothers. I used to be 5'4" tall, but I'm already down to 5'2". It is shocking to me. I still wear heels, and I loved that platform shoes came back in style, cuz I have a zillion of them, plus boots. Bunny Grav3yardgirl's been my inspo. Wait until you get old enough to see the same styles cycle in & out, it's so trippy. I'm still dressing appropriately, I'm uber blessed with genetics (part Native American) and look in my 30s. I get carded all the time, and I have 20something guys hit on me. It's weird, but flattering, I guess. LOL. Thank you for the message about asking for it. Sigh. This reminds me of when i was little, around 4-5 years old and i used to dig in my grandma's closet and try on her clothes. Her clothes were very fashionable with pretty colours so who wouldn't want to try them on. But one day she came in her room and seen me with her clothes on, i thought she would get mad at me but all she said was "that doesn't go together, i'll show you what will match" and we literally had a fashion show in her closet for 3 hours. One of the best memories i had with her

Anna Kirwan I agree. I've had a figure for a long time but always got told to cover up even if I was wearing a turtle neck and jeans. The most disturbing part is when I was at a family party and my mom told me to cover my backside (I was wearing jeans) because I was around family.
I wanted to cry when Amber mentioned that the way you dress doesn’t mean you’re asking for it. I got molested on New Years Eve by my cousin and I told someone and they told me that the way I was dressed kinda provoked it. I still cry to this day, it hurts that I’m now ashamed of myself and feel guilty. EDIT: Thank you so much for the ones who took the time to leave sweet messages. It means so much. I’m the reserved one in my household, so it’s hard speaking up about my issue to an siblings or my parents. My cousin and I have spoke, but it’s not the same. Many reasons as to why I haven’t filed a police report, one being that it’s been multiple times and not just from him, but many other relatives that have taken advantage without my consent. 19 years of these secrets, but no one worth me speaking to. I’m so happy to have support from you guys, I’ve never felt so close to people on the internet. You ARE my only family. My grandma passed away 7 months ago and I still burst into tearst when a take a shower. The first few mothns were the worst becouse I couldnt look my dad in the eyes, couse he was so damn sad (she was his mom). Her death was unexpected and now I can not forgive myself that I spent so little time with her

my great grandma is 79 and is the most fashionable person I know. Every single outfit has to have something sparkly, she wears miss me jeans bc she likes the pockets, and often times shops in women’s and “juniors” sections bc the outfits are cuter. She never leaves the house without hair and makeup and that’s exactly how I picture amber as a grandma!
