I had no idea there were so many subcultures of goth/emo/punk etc -& in absolutely NO way did i mean any harm by this video (it breaks my heart to think any of you think I ever would!) you all know I LOVE self expression and champion any form of it, especially with clothing!! as an adult goth, i have to say i'm super impressed at how open minded you were about everything including how you didn't play into estereotypes plus most of the clothes outside of hot topic were definitely amazing pieces that i would love to buy

Vero Del Mar Yeah, about 8 or so years ago I loved the store, it used to be the place for goths. Now I look in the store and all I see is color, pokemon, rick and morty, etc. Not the greatest place for a goth girl.

I loved the video Amber. You have such a cute relationship with your sister. For those who are upset with her not buying anything Gothic, it's because it's not her style. We love her because she's our glamorous, extra diy-luxury queen. Every true amber fan knows her style and her struggle to gain success. Why would she waste money on things she'll never buy when not long ago she was struggling to pay her rent? She's staying true to herself and I'm so proud of her.
There seems to be quite a few goths in this comment section who've been upset by this video. As a goth myself, I'm not offended, even though the shops she went to weren't explicitly goth. I personally like seeing her bubbly personality, and I doubt she was trying to make fun of us. I get where some people are coming from, but bombarding her with negative comments is only going to enforce negative stereotypes about our community. I'd actually love to see someone give her a proper goth makeover. I think it'd be fun.
Because us goths aren't mad, people are a little dumb 😂 we aren't offended ik all lot of goths that watch her videos not just because she did this video but because she is truly entertaining
People are mad that she didn’t get anything very “goth” but, if she didn’t really like anything goth, why would she buy it if she’s never gonna wear it. I think that’s the point of this video was for her to experience something new, not to buy stuff just to buy. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that’s just mine.

As a Goth, goths shouldn't be triggered. So... We don't care who dresses like us or tries to wear our clothing in anyway. We find it so cool and cute when people try to wear our clothes, of course when they have good intentions.

to all the offended people: amber is an amazing human being. you can just tell she did not mean to offend anybody with this, just wanted to have fun and try something new. she obviously does not know much about anything goth because she is a very girly person and it’s just not her style. I wouldn’t expect her to buy anything super “goth” because it would just go to waste and is totally not her style, it’d be a waste of money. and she just said she was going to shop in the goth section, meaning explore the other styles. she just wanted to see what other styles had to offer, and that’s what she did. We know she isn't dear. But it's just disappointing because for those of us actually in the Goth scene, it really does make us sigh when we see people get it wrong. No any ill-will towards her, Goth is something that is underground and that the mainstream has bastardized 6 feet under but with the internet at our fingertips and plenty of info on what Goth actually is, it's not hard to learn about it today.

Yes I understand she doesn't understand it but that's what the internet is for. Whenever I don't know about something, I'll just look it up to get a general idea. Of course with Goth, there are a few sites that get it wrong but even then, it wouldn't have hurt if she actually looked up a bit about what Goth actually is, that's all I'm saying.

There are times I wonder why I'm subscribed to her because her style is nothing like mine. I guess it's her love for fashion and diy. I'm into casual, nu and pastel goth. In the summer I sometimes mix it up with bright colors. I find nothing to be offended by on this video though.
xxxmarlacatherinexxx It's a thing, look it up. Basically it consists of dark outfits with some pastel or cute pieces in the mix, like a pink studded sweater or a baby blue skirt with bats.

I saw *so* many great finds that you either tried on or skipped that it kind of made me sad, lol but that’s the only thing that made me even the least bit sad while watching this video ... well, and for the fact that those of us who were in an alternative subculture who are grown ups now remember how actually fucking lit that Hot Topic used to be back in the day when they were much more focused on goth inspired fashion ! I definitely have an alternative style, but one that’s very feminine and girly (sometimes there’s a misconception that alt styles aren’t feminine and that makes me sad) SO I can relate to your videos for many different reasons, even if we aren’t exactly the same 💕 that’s what’s cool about diversity and being open minded to different people. You could always learn something new and I think that you learned some new things about different subcultures, the way that I’ve learned different DIY’s from you! I’m sorry that you’re getting hate comments on this one, Amber. I’d like to remind everybody, even those who aren’t subscribers so you aren’t used to Ambers personality, that she is a bubbly girl who likes to genuinely try new things.
