I just did this to my trailer last year mid season! I noticed my leaf springs were almost completely rusted out where the spring was going to snap right in half. Thankfully I caught it before springs broke and the boat ended up dragging on the road.

Living in Colorado, I don't have to deal with the corrosion that salt water brings. I can't believe how degraded those leafs are.

Fantastic video!!! I do have a question. Do you think it would be beneficial to spray paint on some kind of a rust inhibitor like rust reformer from Rustoleum on the springs and hardware or even hub assemblies when putting on new parts? I boat mainly in salt water and know first hand what salt water can do. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks for all the great videos!!!

I double up the nuts on the U bolts to act as lockers
