I remember working construction back in the day, best times ever working. However, there were always some who were consistently inconsistent. Glad that Bugs is someone you can always count on, he's a good guy all around! Keep up the good work sir :)

I can't think of the last time a boss brought me soup when I was sick. I also can't recall ever not calling in when I was sick. It's difficult when people aren't appreciative of someone's kindness, but it shows character by not letting that sour you. Thank you for these videos. My wife and I watch these together and this is literally the only thing on RU-vid she will watch with me.

For all you do for Darryl and his son, there should be much appreciation. How hard is it to pick up the phone and call someone? I've said it before, they seem like really nice guys, but you have a business to run.

The very reason I left the concrete profession almost 25 years ago. Can't rely on others most times. Always had the same issues you had. And the ones that were the great finishers it seemed I had to buy them at exorbitant prices out of the bars. But when you have a reliable crew, you are an unstoppable force and it's a great place to be. I switched to a profession that I never have to worry about others, just myself and even though the excitement isn't the same as pouring mud, I don't miss the disappointment at all. But I'm hooked on phonics watching your videos because guys like you, Bugs are what a well oiled machine is in that profession. The rest are flighters... meaning they don't have that love of work or the profession, otherwise they'd be there daily without excuse.

I just want to say that I’m 26 and have been trying my hands at different trades over the last few years, and not once have I had a boss like Ryan. One came close, but the way Ryan treats his guys is unheard of. Today I walked into my job and spoke to my boss and he was so emotionless and short I immediately thought “Ryan would never trust his guys this way” Ultimately I think Ryan is awesome and I would love to be in Wisconsin working for him. Keep up the amazing work 👍

This channel gets me emotionally invested…. I’m not sure why. It’s a wholesome channel that’s different than other YT channels………. When certain people don’t show up, no call no show really irks me!! I know this comment section is supposed to be positive, but if a few of these guys did this to me, they’d be fired. I’ve mentioned this before and someone said that I must not know anything about construction…. Well my Grandfather owned a Construction/Contracting company for 45 years, and EVERYONE is expendable. When you have a job, especially with a license to drive Dump Truck, you have a responsibility to be reliable. This is literally costing Ryan thousands of Dollars. There’s a 1000 guys that can drive Dump Truck, wash tools and stand around half the time for $30 an hour. It doesn’t matter what your qualifications are, if you can’t show up, you’re no good to anyone. Having a good attitude and being reliable if far more important than qualifications…. Because enthusiastic people can be taught anything….

Hey Ryan. You always talk about Mr. Bobby and his COPD. I have severe COPD, from smoking, of course. I just went on an inhaler that is a game changer, in my eyes. Tell Bobby to get the doc to give him a script for an inhaler called Trilogy. It has a steroid in it, and it changed my life. No more out of breath, and I was able to get back to work. Take my word, it would positively affect his life! He might even get in 16 hours 🤣 Thanx again for the videos. Enjoy them daily!!!

This man is obviously one of the best bosses you could have and for his employees to not call when he’s obviously not going to care too much what the reason is of why they can’t show up. To steal is unforgivable to me, treating someone who’s been really good to say me would be almost as unforgivable especially time and time again... I don’t need the job but if I lived close I’d apply for a job with him just for the experience and the camaraderie

I’m just as frustrated with Darryl as Ryan is. Darryl needs to stop taking advantage of the kindness and professionalism of Ryan. The no call and no show is absolutely disrespectful. He either needs fired and replaced or put on unpaid leave for a month. More than a few times he’s left you guys short handed.

Don't forget that employees not showing up as no call, no show...doesn't only affect the owner. It affects/infects the other employees. Parallel to a poor attitude. It's like a bad disease. On a positive note...I appreciate you, and your videos! Thank you

I heard you make the comment about people not caring about the job because they’ll just move some where else. Which is true. However I started watching this channel about 3 weeks ago because I myself need a driveway. When I did I saw how your treated your employees and how much of a humble boss you are. That is a wry rare where I’m from. Here the bosses don’t care. Although people can move jobs without issue they should still appreciate how good they have it there. I respect the way you do business and how humble you are. That is what has earned my sub today. Keep it up man.

Hope you’re crew feels better and you can get some work out of em before the seasons end. I know that estimate was a pretty elaborate job and a ton of work. Scares me about how much it’ll cost me to get a driveway, garage floor and some sidewalk poured next year. YIKES!!!!! My cousins out in Cali do concrete work NorCal Concrete. Been at it 30 years or so.

I can relate to being underhanded. I work for a pavement company in green bay and we’re at about 40 percent employment compared to what we require. If it wasn’t for the experienced guys we have, not a single crew could run. I’ve done concrete and asphalt for them for 14 years and they appreciate my dedication but more and more falls on us experienced and dedicated guys

Have been watching your videos a few months now. Great work. This is the first video I’ve felt inclined to comment on. Towards the end you ship out your hats. Having the shipping insurance is great for non sentimental items. You’ll get your money back. I’ve been unfortunate to work at both UPS and FedEx Ground. Actually a supervisor at ground. Your package is usually never lost, unless a label rips free. Break opens is the real cause. Quick tape up and go is the fix whenever it’s noticed. On top of it, you think them delivery truck videos are bad. Never look into a 52 ft unload haha.

You know what might be really interesting is a video on your history. Show your earliest pictures and other pictures throughout your life. And any home videos you might have. Talk about them, where your went to school, where your met your wife, parents, where your grew up, etc. Would probably be a fun and therapeutic exercise for you as well. One you can look back on from time to time.

you have a lot of patience, 3 strikes and they are gone is a rule. no call no show means they dont care about their job or you. get rid of them and get someone thats actually wanting to work instead of making you work 10 times more.

I love your videos, I started watching them over that last few weeks while recovering from (c)ovid. I am retired and do not miss supervising the "here today gone tomorrow guys". It looks like Bugs and BoooBY are the only two that have a ounce of work ethic, the others are what I call HTGTG. One day they will look back on you and wish their new boss was like you, the fact is, when you fine a good young worker they will probably end up leaving to start their own concrete business. I am 61 and if I lived around you I would love to give concrete a go, I learn fast, but only as fast as my body would let me. Keep up the good spirits!
