TENER QUE or HAY QUE, both express obligation or necessity, but there’s a difference between them depending on the context. Find out when to use TENER QUE vs HAY QUE in this really short Spanish lesson. Leave your examples in the comments down below.

@@rimplepal2841 Algunas correcciones: - Tengo que hacer la tarea (usa siempre el infinitivo después de “tener que”. - Hay que ir al banco (no usamos el verbo “visitar” en este contexto) Gracias por los ejemplos 👍🏻👍🏻

Tengo que aprendar mas espanol. Me gusta el video bajo por que hay un poco mas ingles. I like this short video because there is a little more English. These short videos are great. I like how you focus on a single easy subject that can be summed up in a few words. I saw a video a long time ago that explained that the Spanish language allows one to avoid accepting responsibility. This sort video shows examples of both forms of speech. Great job.

You know "hay que limpiar la casa" is a little difficult to translate because "one must...' is still a subject. This short video will reinforce your recent lesson about what puts the I in weirdo. "The house must be cleaned". In other words the house isn't going to clean it self so you have to clean it, because I am to lazy.

Me encanta que estés usando español en tus comentarios. I’ve got to a point where I can see it’s better to make multiple short lessons covering one small subject at a time, rather than trying to cover a lot of material in only one video. Exactly, this a case of avoiding responsibility, the other one is one use of the pronoun “se” (I’ll talk about it soon).

@@ericbaugher You’re right! At the very beginning I said that “hay que” could be translated as “something should be done”, maybe this idea is more impersonal than “one must do something”. Thanks for commenting 😉
