Anyone commenting she is not a Jenna, clearly haven’t seen her as Jenna. She is phenomenal, outstanding and straight out amazing as Jenna. So if you do get the chance, get yourself to the theater before she is done!!
Natasha L Goyco Ortiz Agreed. I was floored how good she was. By far one of the best Jennas, and she has great chemistry with both Joey McIntyre and now Jeremy Jordan.
I haven’t seen her but like with most Jenna’s it’s the wig that makes me instinctively not want to like her. I’ve seen photos and I’m genuinely angry that hardly any of these wonderful actresses have gotten good wigs
Got to see her and Jeremey Jordan in Waitress yesterday!! She rocked the song and was utterly amazing! I’ve never heard it sung better than it was in person!
Literally anyone commenting negative things on this needs to stop. If you’re never been forced to sing in this kind of space you have no idea what it’s like to try to manipulate your voice to accommodate a dead small room with a crappy mic and quiet track. She obviously wasn’t performing this venue like she would the Broadway stage. Go watch her She Used To Be Mine professionally recorded and then come back and tell me she’s not good.
Mackenzie Richardson I think her voice is too mature for Jenna. I imagine Angela Lansbury covering this would sound the same........ strange comparison
she was stunning when I saw her last week. Don't think it's necessarily fair to judge one performance where she's singing over top a quiet track on a basic sound system inside of a clothing store.
I love Shoshana as much as the next person but if this performance is any indication of how her Jenna will be, it will be just as disappointing as I expected :(
@@yayshowvids6427 I listened to a few audios from her actual performances after listening to this and I am still unimpressed. Jessie, Katharine and Betsy are in a league of their own. Could any of them play Elphaba? Probably not. I don't think Shoshana can play Jenna very well.
Hey! I have to disagree. I saw this Anthropologie pop up performance, and then the actual show the day after so have a pretty clear point of comparison. They were totally different. Her actual Jenna was, well, a lot more Jenna. She definitely brings an edge to the role, but it is so brilliant and works really well in the context of the real show. Her 'She Used to be Mine' was utterly breathtaking.
Shoshana, just like a large number of people who have played elphaba screwed her voice doing that role. That’s why she’s cheating so many of these notes.
Jennifer Chandler I was underwhelmed by this performance, but suspected this wasn’t her at full throttle. Saw her in the show on Sunday and she blew me away. I have seen every Jenna and she’s definitely among the best. The rest of the audience was all in, as well.
