Son, Lil Lettuce, reflects on the father (Momo) he never met, that died just months before he was born. Big Momo from 59 East Coast Crips died in a traffic accident in December 3, 1985 right before his birth in March 1986.

Commit a violent murder, get killed by the State. Kill a police officer, and have the entire police department gunning for your entire family. I dont think many people realize how dangerous this interview actually is and the risk that Alonzo puts himself in for this interview. This neighborhood is over 90% Latino and dominated by the violent F13 gang which is Toast Bashin heavily right now. You see how these dudes keep looking over their backs every 5 seconds for F13 and I have seen pics of Tiger on Facebook shot up in a hospital with a cast on his arm. These stories arnt fairytales, the shit is real. Alonzo, as a fellow college graduate myself (and a civilian)I dont know whether to compliment your bravery in these interviews or whether i should tell you that might be missing a few marbles. All it takes is one time. Anyhow, great interview.

You can say that (dangerous) about every interview that is done in the public, on a street, or a park or on a corner. You obviously believe that this particular area and these particular gangs are responsible for more homicides than normal, but if you look at the data, there are over a dozen communities in LA that have yielded more violence and homicides than this particular location. Realistically, the danger you are talking about is perceived. Anyone that researches gangs, through ethnography, interviews, observation, journalism, exposes themselves to potential dangers, but not any more than anyone else walking down the street. I am wearing my journalist cap, and that's what we do to deliver a story. Thanks for checking out the channel and I appreciate your views.

A good friend was in the streets, he was ambushed by 4 guys as he pulled up to a friend's house. They unloaded a 100 round clip. He was hit 5 times jumping from front to back of the car. He lost his leg as a bullet when down knee and out the bottom of his foot. He survived because he was highly intoxicated. With a prosthetic leg he returned back to the streets until a guy came up to him while he was standing in the door of his car and shot him multiple times. He has 3 kids and the no arrest even when the first guys were ex friends of his , this was in Detroit. R.I.P.

My deepest condolences goes out to all east coast sets, heard in 04 & 05, F13 was constantly serving these cheese toast guys on a plate!! Day in and day out!! 59, 66, 76, 89 is barely alive, clinging to life, smashed to damn near extinction. Police had to be called, FBI had to get involved, statements written in court. 59 ECC is defunct and 76 ECC is practically non-existent in what was their hood.F13 took over both of those spots.76 ECC kick it further south in 89 EC NHC.66 and the rest of the 6 Pacc are strong and active sets.
