Shot entirely on the new iPhone 15 Pro in 4K Cinematic Mode

I went outside to film some first Videos on the iPhone 15 Pro in Cinematic Mode (Standard Camera App) to come up with a Trailer of a movie that probably never gets released. This footage was recorded on the iPhone 15 Pro, edited and color-graded in Final Cut Pro X with my iPhone LUTs Collection and my Master Bundle.
Some shots were filmed in Cinematic Mode (4K / 30fps), others with the regular wide-angle/telephoto/macro camera lens. I didn’t use any third-party-apps like Filmic Pro, no Log or ProRes Codecs - Maybe there will be another Video in the future in which I’ll test the new Log format and ProRes as well as the new focal lengths.

@@ldlink3935 iphone is the king amoung other phones in camera and samsung and pixel sit in the same grade of iphone . but professional camera is always a tier above , many time iphone camera is a straight processed photos with face shadows removed for straight upload .

Indeed with proper lighting the cinematic can look good if you adjust the saturation and in a scene where edge detection isint to big a deal. However i prefer to shoot 4k60 10 bit with the iphone

Even with proper lighting, editing and storytelling, video quality is what ruined this video. You can 100% tell is what captured on a smartphone just by the sharpness alone. Then the fake depth of field is so noticeable. Had this video been captured on a quality cinema camera like an FX3, R5c, Red, heck even an a7S2, the video quality would have been mind blowing. Can you imagine the NFL using smartphones to capture all their games? They have great lighting, amazing audio devices and players out there making awesome plays. But hey, we don't need $100k usd broadcasting camera to capture the games. All we need is iphone 15 pro max because its that damn good. Who needs Arri camera to record movies? Those are wasted $50k usd cinema cameras that an iphone 15 can record easily and produce the same quality because all you need is a crew, lights and writers to bring these scripts to life. And who needs Sony FX3 and Canon R5C to capture footages as weddings? Iphone 15 will do the trick.

@@harryvuemedia5106maybe you can because you have knowledge but im 100% sure if a normal dude without any filming experience sees that video he cant tell if its made with an iphone. Its really mind blowing how good such little smartphones are now and thats more then enough for all the social media content, sure you wont produce a Hollywood film with a smartphone but the fact that it produces such high quality video for a phone is insane. Compare that with smartphone cameras 10 years ago for example. Its amazing to see what level those smartphones have reached

Anyone watching who is in to cameras and cinematography will be able to tell. 99.9% of the population would not be able to tell the difference unless shown side by sides. This looks incredible. The comments may not fully reflect that because obviously most people watching it will be looking at it because they are into cameras and cinematography and/or specifically looking for differences. It looks absolutely incredible. Thank you for making this.

I watched it for what it is, but was also watching for obvious signs. The only part that really stood out was the hug just after 1:55. The hair was blurred incorrectly. Otherwise, if I sat and really watched for it I'm sure I could tell, but otherwise this really is incredible

Im a pro wedding videographer and just got an iPhone 15 pro max and discovered the cinematic mode and HOLY SMOKES!! When did we get such incredible augmented DOF?! Apple just needs to do some work on the hair of people, but other than that, they are pretty much nailing it!! I still can’t believe this little pocket device does most of what I used to carry a huge backpack with video gear (body, lenses, stabilizer, batteries, monitor) for. The software is not quite there yet, but I now believe in 5-10 years there will be pro wedding videographers shooting a wedding with just an iPhone and delivering a dang good film. I mean this little pocket device already does better handheld video stabilizing, than my SONY mirrorless on a DJI gimball!!! And why spent time learning focus pulling and missing the focus on many shots while doing so, when you can just do it in post using Apple’s software. Tech is crazy nowadays.

Von Dienstag bis Nachmittag bis Donnerstag Abend. Script war nur ruff im Kopf und dann einfach drauf los was mir in den Sinn kam. Edit zwischendurch bis timeline voll war.
