One of the keys to the glide is to keep the forward momentum as his right foot moves from the back of the circle to the middle of the circle. Someone not as strong may be able to get his right foot to the middle of the circle, but would loose forward momentum. Someone not as strong should keep that right foot movement shorter so the momentum continues to be directed back.

One of the key point of success in glide is that , the speed of glide and the speed of release is equally proportional to each other .

Here's something that I've never found to be explained fully. Most top athletes like Michelle Carter and most coaches (probably) say that the POWER comes from the legs. WHERE? WHICH LEG? Logically (to me) the RIGHT LEG would be pushing the right side of the body around and UP to add acceleration and power to the RIGHT ARM as it launches the shot. But, when looking at Storl and other champions, the right leg is always bent as if there has been no push-off against the ground. The right foot is up on the toe and barely touching the ground. So, where is the "leg power" coming from? SOMETHING is lifting the putters body up off the ground so they can switch feet. Is that from straightening the LEFT LEG?

Great question...I think the simplest answer as described by some of the best throwers is...by use of the legs is the feeling that you are quick squatting (lifting) from the power position (more on right leg) to the recovery phase of the throw. It is important to note the power starts from the surface, through the body and applied to the shot. In glide, there is (as you noted) more weight transfer from the right side (for the right-handed thrower) because it more of a single leg support for the back of the circle. There is lifting, perhaps not full retention of the right leg, but it is lifting. Sometimes blocking of the left leg prevents full extension of the right leg. On another note: It is different for the rotational method because it is more a double support system. Hope that helps.

It's is going to be the same if I throw left-handed, because I throw from left not from right
