My old garmin approach (s10) was on the way out (battery life) so i was in the market for a new watch and went for the V5 for the added tag funtionality and the price was attractive. On course the GPS functions are great. Its found the courses very quickly and booted them up fast. More options than my old watch which is nice when playing an unfamiliar course, to be able to pull up an overhead. One simple thing I liked was the main display having all the basic info you needed on it at a glance. Front middle back distances, tagged club and the Time. When it comes to using the tracking side of the watch if you havent used one before your going to have to get yourself into the habit of interacting with the watch alot more then your used to. Double checking the right club is tagged, clicking at the flag and entering amount of putts. I havent played enough yet to get useful data. My main negative is the bluetooth for uploading data and the shotscope software for editing your rounds. I couldnt upload my first few rounds at all. Had to unpair (forget)the watch from my phone and reconnect them to fix the issue . The software for editing your rounds is not very intuitive especially if youve not logged penalty shots or provisional shots during your round. Overall im very happy with the watch and am looking forward to playing enough to get the data on just how bad I am🤪.
