I'm a Japanese baseball fan. Truth be told, I didn't anticipate that Shota would demonstrate such amazing performances from the beginning in MLB! I love him because of his cool but passionate pitching. Go, go, Shota!!

As a Cubs fan, I think he’ll be better than Yamamoto this year and maybe next but Yamamoto is still so young. Also Roki Sasaki is gonna be the best of all three. My hope is that Seiya and Shota perform so well that when Sasaki is posted he’ll want to go to the cubs to join the lineage.

Honestly, I even haven't expected he had been active so much. It's so great to see him as ace of MLB🔥🔥🔥

The big difference between Imanaga and Yamamoto is that Imanaga was able to adapt himself to MLB quicker than Yamamoto. Particularly, to the slippery American baseball. Also, in WBC, he pitched for the final and he did an excellent job and I knew then, he would do very well in MLB. I can see Samurai spirit in Imanaga. On a very cold day when all the players were wearing long sleeve shirts, he wore a short sleeve uniform and he didn't seem to be bothered by the cold temp. He behaved like just another day. He's got a tough mentality and I think it will carry him deep into the season.

Godsend for the cubs after loosing steele on opening day. I know he’ll naturally regress after hitters get more familiar with him. But he’s doing a great job to start the year while our 5th place cy young pitcher recovers
