You have to get close to the monsters to at least hit 100% of your shots

Bracken can be killed with two shots of the shotguns, you didn't killed it because you have poor aim Edit: you can one-shot bracken but you have to be really, really close most likely in a distance where it can one-shot you too and because of that killing it with two shots is more common.

They really need to add a flamethrower in the next updates to deal with the bees

It would be cool if the hygrodere got bigger and more dangerous with each player it consumes

To make this easier to understand: a shotgun blast can do a maximum of 5 damage (with no stun multiplier). Since stunning is a separate mechanic, we'll leave that for another time, though. Nutcracker - 5 health Masked - 4 health Jester - Invincible Coil-Head - Invincible Snare Flea - 3 health Ghost Girl - Invincible Bracken - 5 health Hydrogere - Invincible Bunker Spider - 5 health Forest Keeper - Invincible Eyeless Dog - 12 health Thumper - 4 health Manticoil - 2 health Circuit Bees - Invincible Earth Leviathan - Invincible Jeb - Invincible Hoarding Bug (not included in video) - 3 health Spore Lizard (not included) - Invincible Lasso Man (not included - can only be encountered by using specific mods) - 3 health Baboon Hawk (not included) - 6 health Roaming Locusts (not included) - Invincible Every creature capable of taking damage EXCEPT for the Eyeless Dog (would need at least 3 shots - though there was a bug that was preventing them from taking damage and I'm not sure if that's been fixed yet) and Baboon Hawk (2 shots) can be killed with a single shot from the shotgun. However, the Jester, Coil-Head, Ghost Girl, Hydrogere, Forest Keeper, Circuit Bees, Earth Leviathan, Spore Lizard and Roaming Locusts are immune to taking damage from the player and therefore can NOT be killed, no matter how many times you shoot them with a shotgun (or hit them with a shovel / sign, which does 1 damage). Respectfully, since all of this information is readily available via the game code (and mods) and the game's wiki, more research should have been done before publishing. However, this does show that, in order to use the shotgun most effectively, you need to have an adequate understanding of the weapon's spread, hitbox and effective range / damage falloff.

You can kill the bracken, just takes a few shots *edit* takes 2 hits to kill a spider if up close, same with bracken

You can avoid the earth leviathan by walking in a direction and then doing a 180 and sprinting once the ground starts spewing black particles. It tracks which direction you’re trying to go and makes a guess where you will be. If you crouch in one spot it’s obviously going to instakill you. You can then shoot it when it leaves the ground. No idea what it does, don’t think it’ll do anything, but you can shoot it

Judging from the video and the comments section, I think this guy definitely should redo the video to prevent spreading misinformation about the shotgun because of his sloppy method of killing the monsters.

The bracken and spider can both be put down relatively easily with the shotgun, you just have to be in full-body hugging range to do it, which given the bracken instakills... Yeah maybe just use it for defense.

You can one-shot Mask and Backen. But needs to be at close range and flat terrain. *Backen case is like needs it to be stun or when it's charged at you.

Important infos for the shotgun. It does one hit most of the enemies but when using the shotgun its a game of luck because its hitbox is very bugged or rather inconsistent as of now (tested). It seems to sometimes work 100% of the time and sometimes it doesnt as shown in the video. Too close to a enemy increases the chance of it not working, the same goes for too far, also if the enemy is moving away its a factor or if its moving towards you or if you are moving. What im trying to say is the shotgun is incredibly unreliable ive tested it in a 3 players vs alot of nutcrackers, where a main cause of death for us was the not working hitboxes.

They should add an update where you stun the jester for at least 1 second with your shotgun that way it would give you at least enough time to escape even though you are unable to kill it you could at least slow it down just enough to escape.

You're using a shotgun, you need to be close to enemies, the Bracken can be taken down by it with one shot

If you think about it, the shotgun is basically a really strong shovel.

I think the shotgun's hurtbox is probably pretty jenk. Some of those enemies I feel like should've gone down way easier then they did.

What an interesting detail that there's a safety on the shotgun you have to be concious of. Makes it quite neat.

Thats the worst aim, bracken dies atleast with 1-2 rounds, spider-same.

I do think some of these could just be the shots missing it's really hard to tell, but even so the shotgun in player hands seems to be significantly weaker. They seem pretty capable of shooting you across the room from what I've seen, and it takes a few shovel hits to kill a player, yet at that same distance monsters that are a similar level of hits (so presumably the same health as a player?) don't die. Maybe it's just a matter of figuring it out better because from how the Nutcracker uses it, you should be able to shoot a bracken twice to kill from down a corridor.

After seeing the mask guy lay there on the stairs I think ragdoll physics on monster corpses would be cool Like the player has when you die

i love how bracken doesn't die by a literal shotgun but disappears as soon as someone wants to run the fade with the shovel or anything that you're able to swing

yeah uh, in this game the shotgun has enormous spread, the bracken or spider would not have survived as it did, nor the dog

The shot gun has insane fall off. You pretty much one shot anything if you barrel stuff, but anything past near melee is 2 or more shots.

Btw Bracken does die but it takes 2 close-range shots, you missed the first one because you were really far away from him. Same thing for the spider, all of your 5 shots were not at close-range it should not take that many.

In it's current state I don't see any reason why the Shotgun and the shells couldn't be added to the store. Maybe 100 for the shotty and 20 for the shells? Then again the game kind of has a problem in that most of the monsters are simply impossible to effectively deal with.

you can kill the bracken, spider in 2 shots at close range. You just were too far on the shots. From my understanding, generally speaking, the shotgun deals 2.5 shovel hits worth of damage against enemies but will always one shot a player. So a bracken and spider take 5 shovel hits to die, so 2 shotgun hits will kill them. And since doggos take 22 shovel hits to die, you would need 9 shotgun hits to kill one doggo.

The reason you didn’t kill the bracken is because the jester has an invisible forcefield around it causing you to not kill it

The spider only takes 1-2 shots but you were to far away from it which caused you to miss

It looks like the shotgun is a really close ranged weapon, which is probably why it didn't do much to the spider or braken.

The jester has a magic Shield that prevents shots (by players) to go through, hence why the bracken didn't just die in a single hit

The jester getting angry was most likely just luck because sometimes they find someone and start cranking right away and other times not it’s random

You didn't kill the Bracken because of the Jester. The jester has an indestructable shield that can protect other monsters if you hit it.

I know shotguns work on Brackens because that's basically the only reason I'd determine to be shotgun worthy typically. Otherwise, just send the friend(s) with shovels at the issue. Just last session I bum-rushed the Bracken we noticed and point blanked it in a corner xD

The shotgun is basically a Stop sign or Shovel on steroids. Which means you still need to get in the enemies' face and put yourself at risk.

Hate to be that guy but most of the monsters inside the facilities can usually be killed in 1 or 2 shots aslong as you're close to guarantee all the shots land. You just had bad aim hence why the bracken didn't die.

With the snare flea shot, all I know is that the shotgun has bettr damage and range than the one in Halo Reach, and I am here for that.

Shotgun shells don't have bullet in them. They either have multiple pellet that spread out, also known as buckshot, or slugs in them

I have ptsd from the jester because the first time me and my 3 other friends went, we found not 1, not 2 , but 3 or 4 jesters I think. ( we could of counted the same one twice idk but still it was horrifying because I heard one winding up while another emerges from the darkness in front of me and my other friend said that he found another one)

the shotgun has a range damage drop off, the farther you are from the enemy the less damage it will do to them. i've seen masks, brackens, and spiders get one shot at very close range and i've also seen them need 2 shots.
